I get everyone loves Bennett, I like him too, but people need to get realistic and watch him play. He never passes the puck, so of course his linemates will look like "floaters" as you call them. At least 3 times today he had an easy pass to an open team mate and tried to deke through 2-3 Redwing players, including with the open net, Monahan was wide open on the left side and Sam proceeded to lose the puck at center.

I think the team and/or Johnson needs to flub a game before we see Elliott back in net.

If they play like this every game Iwill be overwhelmed with joy. Still seeing Monahan losing the puck a lot, and did not get a good shot or pass. He seemed to be floating out there for 30 seconds then went for the bench. He needs to contribute more

Honestly they need to have a sit down with Bennett. This isnt junior anymore he cant be trying to do everything himself. He wont ever become a consistent top 6 threat if he doesnt learn how to pass.

True. Not sure I've ever said or thought "that was a nice pass/setup by Bennett".
Guy needs to have more tools in his toolbox to be successful. If he's not scoring that means plays are going to die on his stick cause he doesn't distribute it enough.

Perfect weekend for Calgary sports. Dino's headed to Vanier Cup, Stamps headed to Grey Cup, Flames win in regulation.

I am/was leaning this way too but that's a lot of hockey for Johnson and we have a lot of road games coming up here. Teams playing well though so if they suck with Elliott in net so we regress? I don't know, my gut says Elliott but it's been known to have #### for brains.

Monahan is gripping his stick real tight and for whatever reason his confidence is completely shot right now. He looks like he's thinking too much.
It's frustrating to see but ultimately I'm not worried.
I don't know what you guys are all talking about, Bennett looks better and better IMO. We need a guy that takes the puck to the net hard, isn't that what they have been missing in the top six? He actually did make a few nice passes as well.

Well deserved first goal ever. And love the chirping. Looking for a rebound? That's some kind of focus.
And even rocking a Stamps hat.
Also, Backlund's goal which was inches away from a kick review - beauty.

Honest question, has Hathaway ever disappointed in the NHL? I can't recall ever watching him and thinking he didn't play great. He seems to always have energy and passion.
And judging by that pic he looks jacked. I will personally gut punch Gulutzan if he's benched the rest of the season in favor of Bouma. We need some energy from our bottom lines and Hathaway delivers that whenever he's on the ice.

That's why Bouma's contract is so terrible. I like him a lot but he can be replaced with guys on ELCs and minimum deals.

So we'd better not sign Hathaway to Bouma's contact either

Man, I feel kind of sorry for Brian Elliot. Every time he's been given the starting goaltending job he loses it because of his inconsistent goaltending and the backup plays so much better. This is the 3rd team this things happens. Ottawa with Craig Anderson I believed. Then in St. Louis with Jake Allen. So far this season Chad Johnson is outplaying him and Elliot been a backup 4 games in a row now. I hope this guy bounced back and play the same way as he played in the pre-season.

Great win.
Tkachuk was brilliant - kid is gonna be a special player. The Perry comparison is legit.
Johnson is the starter.
Dougie and Gio have been good together.
Hathaway needs a real number - he belongs.
It's troubling how difficult it is for these guys to win games in regulation.
On to Buffalo.

I think he was traded for Anderson, they never played together

Am I alone in saying that Dougie Hamilton has made huge strides the last several games? Since he's been paired up with Giordano I actually feel confident when Dougie is on the ice.
He certainly has a huge upside and tons of talent. Hope he doesn't get traded like a lot of CP are hoping for.

So the morning show guys this morning assigned the nickname The Bear to Hathaway. Will it stick? Time will tell.
I personally like it.

I think Monahan hangs back a bit with Bennett because he wants to be conservative on defence, especially on the road. On watching last night I think he figures Bennett and Brouwer will go low so he stays up in the high slot more with them and peels back if the retrieval looks iffy.
