Ew. Katz was wearing a velvet pullover for the Gretzky press conference.

Think they'd be so egotistical as to have a ceremonial face off between Whiner and McJesus?

Would they be that bold to disrespect Gio and the Flames like that?

As someone who's been hating the Oilers for 30 years now, I can't say nothing that pathetic excuse of a "professional" sports organization does anymore surprises me.

So apparently he is going to have a meaningful job. That's good news for the Flames because he's just not that great post playing career. I have my doubts about his intelligence- maybe it was all spent on hockey IQ.

Surprised the Oilers didn't do this tonight... again.

Me too. What was the story there? Was he freezing cold? Nervous? Mad at someone? He looked like crap.

My best memory of those Olympics was the opening ceremonies thread. That was probably the funniest thread on this sire ever.

I will never forget:

"So.... I guess the devil shows up in a flying canoe... good to know for the apocalypse."

And the great one being shuttled around in the back of a fleet spec Chevy Silverado.... yeah, that was pretty sweet too.

I was wondering if Wayner is in charge of beta testing various hair style for Katz.

Good grief, that guy looks like he just got out of the wrapper

The hoodlums chasing the truck capped it off for me. Burned in my memory forever.

So you were worked up over some fictional event you'd created in your own mind that never actually happened or was ever going to happen?

Am I the only one confused by a "passing of the torch" to McDavid from a guy that left the team 28 years ago?

Shouldn't Oiler fans be wondering why Wayne has had the torch in his basement for nearly three decades? Why didn't the team get the torch back with the rest of Wayne's oiler stuff when he got traded? Why didn't they ask him for the torch back when they noticed it was missing? Should Ference be pissed that he never got the torch?

Just so many unanswered questions.

The torch shrinks with disuse. By the time Ference got it, it was a Zippo.
