Sonic is pretty much the same as Wendy's, but slightly worse.
In N Out is decent, but no better than Fatburger or 5 Guys.
Qdoba and Chipotle are much worse than Mucho Burrito.
Jack in the Box? Really? Most folks in America won't even eat that crap.

Maybe it won't be good, but it's new and different then what we have, so why not get a little excited for something we've seen advertised for years but never had?

He's been on a "oh you Canadians" kick ever since he moved to the US for work. It happens to everyone that leaves this country for the States, usually lasts about a year, haha.

On the contrary.
Food in Canada is far better than food in the US. I seriously miss the restaurants in Canada.

A longtime American fast food favourite is looking to spice up Calgary.
In its first foray into Alberta, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen will be opening in the old Taco Bell on 17th Avenue S.E., one of a handful of new businesses set to open on International Avenue.

Nothing really to add, just got a little bit more buzz.

Speaking of 17 Ave SE chicken, I understand the new Costco (in East Hills) sells cooked chicken wings by the pound. Something like $8 for a pound, or a family pack (3 pounds) for $20.
Had some last weekend (family member brought them over) -- they are deep fried, lightly breaded, and were similar in size to the hot wings they sell in the deli. Came with a dipping sauce (we tried the hot sauce and bbq).

I disagree. Don't get me wrong food is and can be good in Canada but outside of Montreal most of the best meals I have had were in the US.

Oh I disagree.
I find that many US restaurants try to make up for quality by focusing on quantity. While I find this specifically for those restaurants that consider themselves casual dining, it is also the same for high end places as well.
I really struggle to identify a single country that has provided me with "the best meals I have had".
I have had great food in the US, Canada, Mexican street vendor, South Africa, Italy, it goes on and on.
It really falls to each individual restaurant (but I know you know that).

The fast food I liked the most on my last trip to California was El Pollo Loco. Maybe that's because we don't have enough Mexican type food here but their were like 5 different tacos on their dollar menu and the variety was great! Lots of variety in food and veggies in everything. The chicken is all fire roasted/grilled on a large contraption. It was like Swiss Chalet meets Mexico to me.

If you guys are ever in the Southeast US, try a place called Bojangles. I think they have the best chicken for a chain restaurant compared to KFC or Popeyes. They were all over in South Carolina when we lived there.

Ha! I thought they were pretty good. I'm not a wing expert but I thought they were good texture, good size, and nice flavour with or without sauce.

Thats a good choice! Love their burgers. When I visit home in Oklahoma I always try to fly back through Houston so I can get a couple to bring back with me!

Has anyone drove by the new popeyes recently?
How close is it looking to being complete?

Costco Wings: I thought they were good pretty good as well. Decent size, good flavor. I added some hot sauce to some of them for a kick.

Maybe a week ago and it didn't look even remotely close, the outside it looked like they were still in tear stuff off mode.
