Fox and the Harvard Crimson are playing against RPI and Union this weekend.

If you need your Friday night Fox fix, RPI offers free live streaming of their games through the student-run RPI TV network: http://rpitv.org

The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern / 5:00 p.m. Mountain.

Good feeling about him, provided we don't have any issues signing him. There was a spot with conny discussing him last week and he said teams are trying to slip him into trade conversations like they used to try with Johnny.

Bah I can't find the interview and meant to post this earlier but in a recent intermission interview Conroy mentioned that his name (Fox) has come up a lot by other teams. Always a good sign for a prospect.

For me it is Brandon Hickey. Remember him?

Yes and no. The same claim was made about Drew "Kloten HC" Shore.

Fox nominated for phase I of the Hobey Baker award process. Phase I is a fan vote based on players nominated by Directors from Divison I schools

Doubt he is going to win, but huge recogntion for a freshman d-man

Update for those who don't follow the NCAA Prospects thread (shame on you).

Harvard won the ECAC Championship tonight and will go into the NCAA Tournament as one of the top seeds (the bracket will be announced tomorrow morning).

Adam Fox's 2017, so far...
  • World Jr Champion (3 points in Championship game)
  • Beanpot Champion (2 points in Championship game)
  • ECAC Champion (2 points in Championship game)

...and the season isn't over yet.

Plus, he won ECAC and Ivy League Rookie of the Year and was named to the ECAC First All-Star team.

Is it too early to have Gostisbehere hopes for this kid?

very intriguing prospect; compared to all of the first year college D-men drafted in the first round last year, Fox has out-produced them all - Fabbro, McAvoy, Cholowski

on a PPG basis, has even out-produced the CHL D-men from last years 1st round

I'd count very few undersized defencemen as blue chip IMO. Until they prove they can play pro hockey vs NHL sized power forwards they're always a bit of a question mark to me. Fox is putting up insane numbers in the NCAA but can he defend against a Getzlaf, Perry, Kopitar at the NHL level or will he have to be a sheltered PP specialist? Only time will tell

For the Flames I'd have Jankowski, Gillies and Parson as blue chip with Andersson and Kylington being on the verge but probably not qualifying. Even goalies are a bit of crapshoot so maybe only Jankowski should count as a blue chipper. I dunno, very debatable obviously

Don't know about "blue chip" but if he can be as good as Russell at the NHL level I would be happy.

You could absolutely argue that Fox is the most offensively talented d-man to play in the NCAA since Leetch. That's fantastic company. Time will tell what he develops into but his college numbers are the definition of outstanding.

I think so. Remember the Justin Schultz sweepstakes? And the hype wasn't about his defensive prowess - it was his offensive game that had every team in the league excited to land him, and for good reason (5th in Dman points this year).

It wasn't until Schultz' draft+3 season that he put up the kind of offense that Adam Fox just did in his draft+1:

Justin Schultz
Draft+1 - BCHL - 49GP 15G 35A 50PTS
Draft+2 - WCHA - 43GP 6G 16A 22PTS (.51 P/G)
Draft+3 - WCHA - 41GP 18G 29A 47PTS (1.15 P/G)

Adam Fox
Draft+1 - ECAC - 32GP 5G 31A 36PTS (1.13 P/G)

And, for good measure:

Zach Werenski
Draft+1 - BIG-10 - 36GP 11A 25A 36PTS (1.00 P/G)

Fox doesn't have the size of Schultz or Werenski, but is that enough to drop him out of 'blue-chip' status? I don't think so - what Fox just accomplished this season is very special, and as far as size goes, guys like Letang, Ellis, and Krug (3yrs of NCAA, and never put up #s like Fox) are showing that sub-6' defenders can be elite in the NHL.
