To be fair, I think he knows how peed off he looked at the last lottery and is probably telling Matthews to make the best of it, even if its an outcome that he's dreading like the Oilers.

Spoke to a GM today who sees Ovechkin potential in Laine. Has a high end shot and has potential to be 40+ goal scorer in NHL.

I would have to agree with you. If he has Ovechkin potential that is a 50+ goal scorer.
Still a 40 goal scorer would be a top 5 goal scorer in the league. I'd take that and run.
