I'll be posting Around the League after the Jets game outcome, for draft implication purposes.

Thanks man for pointing out it could always be worse. We could be cheering for the Sabers and their draft chances.

I'll admit I'm kind of disappointed. If we were gonna win, I wish Johnny at least officially reached point-per-game.
But good for Sieloff and Elson. Oliver looked great.
But wow. 2 spots. Yikes. Let's hope the Hockey Gods look down on us and smile.

Well the season is over so there's no more games where the draft position ppl vs the Flames win meaningless games ppl can fight. I'd assume tonight is the last night of the fight.
After that we're all unified in cheering Dallas on and hoping for a big lottery win!

Shouldn't be a fight. What's done is done. If the Jets win tonight, we drop. If not, we stay where we are. The next 21 days should be all about praying to the hockey gods that we win one of the lotteries, of which we had a reasonable chance of doing so, especially the 2nd and 3rd.
I'm just going to enjoy the play offs, look to be some amazing series coming up before the lottery.

Meh, I feel how I feel. Isn't that hard to understand wanting Flames to draft as high as possible, but baring that, looking for a silver lining in the worst case scenario of Flames drafting 9th in relishing in Van, Edmonton, and Toronto fans getting screwed too. How is that flip flopping?

I cheered when Bollig scored. Sieloff too. Sorry.
How do you actually cheer for the other team to win? Seems confusing.
"Bollig, Woo!... wait, ####, Bollig, nooo! Stupid Bollig!"???

Well, this PGT is fun. Anyways...
Backstrom was very good tonight. That is 2 solid games out of his starts. I wonder if a team snags him up in the off-season to be a backup. I don't think he has enough gas in the tank at his age to be a starter, but he may be a decent backup for a more inexperienced starter in the league.. maybe. More likely he heads of to Europe.
Sieloff again looked better than I thought he would. He didn't make too many mistakes out there. Nice to see him get his 1st goal, even if there was a big measure of luck involved.
Elson came in as advertised. He isn't fast, but he sure is 'quick'. Darts in an out, and is always moving his feet like a crazy bunny rabbit. Great to see him get on the scoresheet too in his first game (and though I really like him, it may really only be his only game - but who knows?).
Kylington is FAST. He made some big mistakes out there, and seemed to almost become a bit tentative. You can see the tools he has. Flames just need to work with him a bit and he needs to get some confidence. Boy does this kid ever have tools. Remember, he is only 18! That is crazy for a young defencemen.
Nice to see the Flames win. Minnesota has had the Flames' number for the last while. Heck, they also seemed to have the Flames' number for the longest time. Yeah, our draft position got worse, and that sucks, but so what? Either the hockey gods will reward the Flames for their character and win one of the top 3 spots, or they will just take a good player wherever they end up finishing. This draft has a tonne of talent in the first 10-12 picks.
There was a more significant drop-off in the past few years. Flames have had 2 very, very good drafts in getting Monahan and Bennett, and those years had more significant drop-offs between tiers. This year it isn't the same. Dubois, Chychrun, Tkachuk, Juolevi and more could all be available at 6th.
Oh, and I find it extremely unlikely even one team jumps the Flames, much less 3. One team jumping? MAYBE. Why can't it be the Flames that jump?

Odds are not affected by history unfortunately. We're most likely to pick 7th. I'm preparing for that possibility so I won't be disappointed again.

Any other player but Bollig and I would not be mad.
Hoping for a good lottery result now. A deserved result for not tanking. Vets on the team tonight knew it was not a good time to play their best, all of them but Bollig.
Not complaining about a win so much, I just hate Bollig so much!

But imagine if Calgary, Columbus, and Winnipeg won the lottery and the Leafs, Edmonton, and Vancouver pick 4, 5, 6.
There's a very strong possibility of that, right??

You gotta look at it from their POV. They don't give a crap about the draft. One more goal for Bollig is huge, and a gwg.

Hard to explain. I'm not unified in cheering for anything really in this weird lost season limbo. I cheer the Flames on while hoping they lose. That's the best way to describe it.
I'm almost always happy when we score (tonight was an exception I have to admit) and usually I don't take wins hard. But 4th last was right within our grasp, we were half a period away. This one stung slightly, I wasn't massively disappointed for the other losses but so close to 4th and with CBJ completing the unexpected comeback.
Ah well May the lottery odds be ever in our favour. Go lottery machine! Go Dallas!

The win really didn't change our place 2 spots, CBJ and Us both winning kept us in the same spots. It really only dropped is one spot back from where we were.
If WPG ends up winning then it actually changes nothing because the teams are in identical spots to where they started the day
