I like Nakladal. He's not the most mobile guy but he has a nasty edge to his game that the Flames sorely need.

No, they just think he's tiny and don't want to always assume that it was an illegal play that knocked him down, so they rarely call it unless it's super obvious. Kinda like a reverse psychology thing.

I've seen a lot of penalties on Gaudreau missed by refs. You'd have to ask them why it is but I think what Cali is saying is part of it for sure.
