That doesn't count, Ward had that team playing an actual system and it got him fired (well, un-re-hired)

Wonder who the call ups will be? We have zero healthy extras I do believe. Presumably they call up a forward immediately, a d-man after Russell is traded (unless something immediate comes back), and maybe another forward.
Agostino, Hamilton, Poirier, Shinkaruk, Kulak the top options?

I would be complety thrilled if Jooris and his 8pts gets traded for any draft pick.

We're having a down season, not being in year 8 of a rebuild. Get off the bandwagon and don't come back. Go cheer for Chicago or Washington instead if you can't handle the team struggling for a season.

Clearly not a very educated fan.
If he was he'd have no reason to be upset to such an irrational point. It may not appear so, but everything is going to plan. The core is improving each game and making an impact, despite the results. Several expensive anchors will be coming off the books at season's end, we'll have a new goalie tandem in all likelihood that will surely be an improvement on the last, and we'll be picking up what may be one of the last big puzzle pieces up front at the draft that - if top 3 - may be NHL ready. We're gearing up for a huge bounce back season next year quite nicely and it's hard to even be mad with how gracefully the team is losing. There's been no tossing in of the towel despite not getting the results the past 4 games. This is the polar opposite of Oil country, and why our rebuild will take less than half the time.

Those would be my #1, #2 and #3 options with Grant being #4 up front. Then the three kids (Shin/Poirier/Klimchuk) If for some reason we need another D-man after Kulak, then you'd probably see Patrick Sieloff shockingly as he's turned it around lately. Still has a way to go. Not sure you see Shillington until the last week.

Whenever Grant recovers from his broken jaw (not sure how much longer he is out), I'd love to see him get a chance again.

Grant's pretty much ready to begin rehab so it's going to be mid march by the time he's in game shape give or take.

Flames may use a couple of the call-ups to get a closer look at some RFAs that they may be on the fence about. Wouldn't surprise me if Arnold got a look - I think his contract runs out this season too, right?

You mean the 6 games where he had 2 really good ones and a couple bad ones and finished the 6 with mediocre numbers?
What about the 9 games the year before that where he was mediocre at best ? Or the awful starts this year? You can't look at the positives only here.
So we look at his good AHL season 2 years ago but ignore the bad ones the following 2 years?
He is what the balance of his play has shown us.

In fairness you said "he was never good at any level."
I'm not looking only at the positives. I see a young goaltender who has the potential to be a tender at the NHL level. His inconsistancy is why he's where he's at in his development. I'm not ready to throw in the towel.

Pretty disgusted with the Senators fans tonight (who usually aren't bad). One guy had a custom "Flames Suck" shirt with Karlsson 65 on the back, the ones around my seats were drunk, belligerent, obnoxious, rude, etc....
But throwing the other teams jersey on the ice in their barn? Absolutely 100% classless. I'm glad he got kicked out.
Enjoy your 10th overall pick.

I stand by that comment. Outside of 4 games in the ECHL, he hasn't been "great" at any level.
He's just not that good. Every single terrible goalie has amazing games and stretches of great play. The difference between a good goalie and a bad one isn't the highs and lows, it's the consistency. He's been bad far more consistently than good

IIRC it was ruled he was out of his crease and fair game.
