A few tidbits:
If Johnny can get 33 goals, it will be the most goals a flame has scored since Iggy with 43 in 2010-2011.
If Johnny can finish PPG, it will be the first time a flame has gone PPG since Iggy with 86 points in 82 games in 2010-2011.

I think 33 goals is a little optimistic but 87 points seems doable.

One more, if Johnny can make 48 assists, it will be the most assists since Iggy with 54 in 2008-2009.

Like this is an outstanding season for a player, period. And still he'd only be matching some of Iggy's later season totals as a Flame. Iggy was good, man. And to think of the supporting cast he had compared to Johnny. No top tier offensive blue line that could support him on rushes, no young talented C like Monahan. A rotating door of veteran fill-ins. I suppose 08-09 was the one year you could argue there was an adequate supporting cast.

What do you guys think of Matty Gaudreau?

Would signing him please Johnny enough to lower the value of his contract a bit?
Is Matty a good prospect? How much more will his production continue to improve?

If you follow Johnny on twitter, a lot what Johnny posts are his brother's accomplishments.

I don't know much about Matty (other than he loves dome beer), but regarding the bolded part, absolutely no.

Johnny is a star, and deserves to get paid like one. It would be super silly to try and nickel and dime him.

Johnny has a chance to hit 30G before this home stand is over. He has 23 goals in 33 home games. And he owns the Jets.

Hard to believe he is tied with Crosby right now.

Top 5 in scoring would be fantastic for him.

Crazy stat: Johnny is #10 in the NHL among forwards in TOI, with only 1.75 seasons under his belt.

Another crazy stat: Among the top 25 forwards in TOI this season, only four have a PPG average of 1 or higher: (in order) P. Kane, J. Benn, S. Crosby, J. Gaudreau.

Opinion: Johnny Gaudreau is the best left-winger in hockey.

NHL.com lists Benn and Ovechkin both as left-wingers. However, they are both right-wingers, and should be listed as such. So, who's above Johnny?

Panarin? Nope.
Hall? Certainly not.

I honestly believe that Johnny is the best LW in hockey.

I agree.

I'd also say that, maybe behind only Kane, he is the most entertaining player to watch in the league. There may be better point producers (albeit, not many) but no one draws the fans' attention more than Johnny Hockey. Even if he doesn't score on the night, he has certainly made 3 or 4 plays that seem impossible to the naked eye.

Neither of them is a RWer, where did you get that from?

IIRC, they both play the right side in-game. They are listed as LW because they are wingers that are left-handed.

The same reason Hudler is listed as a LW (or a C). He may play it, but for his time with the Flames anyways, he was pretty much exclusively RW.

Since when is Benn a right winger? Or Ovechkin a right winger outside that one Oates season?
