Barring a miraculous run, it looks like the only question league-wide is whether the Avs or the Wild will be in the playoffs.

I'd much MUCH rather watch Iginla than the soul-sucking Wild, so go Colorado.

Buffalo caught a lot of flack for the obvious tank last season but the Leafs have arguably stripped their roster down more as it's the closest to an AHL roster we have possibly ever seen in the NHL.

I'm having trouble understanding why finishing 3rd means you have better odds of dropping two spots than any other movement. I assume it has to do with the odds of being leapfrogged by two teams. Still it kind of blows as we all know Edmonton is likely going to remain top 2 or nab the first overall pick while the hard luck Flames likely move to 5th.

Correct - basically, the Flames have better odds than any one team of picking in that spot, but all other teams combined have greater odds of knocking them down. That being said, they have a 1/3 chance of picking top 3, which isn't bad.

EDIT: For example, the 30th place team in the NHL has a 47.5% chance of drafting fourth.

Massive game tonight between the Flyers and Red Wings. A win for the Flyers tonight in regulation would put them 1 point behind the Wings with 2 games in hand. A win in OT still puts them 2 behind.

But a Red Wings win would see them go 5 points clear, so even if the Flyers won their 2 games in hand, they'd still be behind them. Flyers can't afford to lose this game.

It's possible Car/NJ/OTT goes on a run, but it's strange how lackluster the playoff race is this year. So many ugly, ugly teams.
