Schedule doesn't get easier either. Honestly shocked at this start but I guess the "analytics" geeks are grinning now.

Agreed. Hudler, at least one d-man and at least one goalie.
I'm not cheering for the Flames to miss the playoffs at all, but if this trend continues I just hope most teams are in the playoff mix to make it a seller's deadline. And it would be nice for Hudler to step up his game.

I will be extremely upset if Wideman isn't eating popcorn in pressbox tomorrow.

This is pretty much what's going on. There's nothing the team can do, unless Trevy does something stupid and mortgages the future to obtain some goal scorers.

As much as I loathe to say it, we are Oiler level putrid at the moment. Bright side Ramo sorta played well. Gio and wideman stood out in all the wrong ways tonight. Hartely tough loving soon please.

Have to agree with the few who are saying good game. Can't really fault the team on this one; its just tough to take any loss at this point because there are just so many in the L column.
More and more I feel the team needs a shakeup of some sort. There are enough players who aren't part of the future who could be moved just to inject some new life into the team.
It's ok for fans to give up on the season, but for young players like the Flames have, management has to reinforce the notion that winning is the most important thing. If it takes Hartley's job to do it, so be it. I think there will be changes soon.

Engelland has always been good value, no matter what the anti-Monahan troll has tried to spew.
Hamilton had 4 minutes less than Russell, and 7 less then than the top 3, and only Smid played less at the back. My disappointment is that for what he is getting paid, he should be looking more comfortable and solid than he is, and alreasdy playing top 3 minutes at least, in this defense.

If by playing well you mean he didn't let in his usual 4 goals then yeah, he played ok but we were out goaltended yet again. We had more shots on Bishop and he let in less goals. When a team gets out goaltended every single game like we do then this is the result.

Yep total head scratcher sitting Engelland. He's been fairly steady and is really the only physical defender on the roster outside of maybe Smid. Speaking of Smid he wasn't terrible tonight which leads me to believe a 3rd pairing of Smid and Engelland would be totally fine if Wideman has to sit.

- I believe Girodano is injured to some extent. I think Roger Millions tweeted that out today.
Also, remember when Hartley sat Wideman last year? He came right back and his game completely turned around. DID YOU HEAR THAT, HARTLEY?

I liked the chaos and pressure the 4th line had going in the offensive zone. A couple of scrambley chances created, but no increase in ice time to try and do it again.

A shakeup of some kind is needed. They look out of sync.
Haven't looked right since training camp for that matter.

So dominating large portions of the game is Oiler level putrid?

Agreed. Seeing no team is running away from things in the Pacific I still hope for the team to go on a run but if things continue this way I'm fine hitting the reset button and going back to anticipating a top 10 draft pick. We are now seeing that the team has come along to higher expectations due to over achieving last season but the reality is that they still need another solid draft of top end talent and more development for the young players on the roster before they are a true annual playoff contender. The goaltending situation is going to be pivotal going forward as Treliving needs to be scouting every single goaltender in the AHL and NHL to find someone that can stabilize things between the pipes and I wouldn't rule out Hudler or Russell being used to acquire a goaltender rather than draft picks.
