Why are we watching a RedWings interview after a Flames-Oilers game?

Glad we had an hour long interview with Justin Abelkader. Now we get to talk to Connor McDavid.

Too bad the Flames didn't play tonight, would have been cool for them to talk about their game.

He looks injured for sure. Can't seem to hold on to the puck worth a crap. I have a feeling his abdominal injury (the one he got surgery on) from last year is bothering him again.

Finally got some secondary scoring.
Bennett got an assist in Brodie's snipe. McDavid on the other hand...got nothing. Bennett 1
McDavid 0

Hopefully their head to head OHL trend continues into the NHL.

The Oilers shouldn't even have been on the powerplay that led to that sequence anyway. The Canucks would have been proud of the dive that led to that PP. So no, they didn't get jobbed.

Thought jooris Brodie bennett and obviously Frolik looked good.

Too many horrible passes still. Blind hopes that were turnovers.

And I thought Johnny looked a little rattled after hall took a run at him, and after all the slashes. But it's johnny. No worries there.

Horrible officiating tonight. Barely touch a guy stick on stick, he flops and get called. Then Sam is going up the ice being hooked like crazy and it forces a turnover...no call.

Nice to see edmonton get "ramo'd" there at the end. Talbot looked real shakes tonight.

And I can't believe they called back that edm goal. Lucky break there.

Got to admit Hartley may have something in that Jooris Stajan Frolik line - they looked like they had some instant chemistry.

let's see:

The Flames turn the puck over like it's their duty.

On the tying goal by Draisaitl, Monahan's effort should have earned him a benching.

Gaudreau and Hudler looked average, to poor.

CBC's focus on McDavid while understandable is extremely annoying and will be for the foreseeable future.

Because all of the long form interviews are played after the late game now. It's a format change for this season.

And it was offside.

Great play by Frolik. McOiler need some more TV commercials to show him working on his upper body strength, Frolik picked his pocket to get that puck.

As much as I can't stand all the talk about McDavid, I really enjoyed the Bennett and McDavid segment. I think it's going to be amazing to see them both grow as rivals and hopefully for Sam to come out on top!

That's what I was wondering as well. Wouldn't be surprised if that's indeed the case.

Clearly goaltender interference and a great challenge by Hartley.

They needed this win so badly. I couldn't believe they blew a 2 goal lead 3 times in this game. I was convinced with 30 secs left in the 3rd that we would lose in OT, just their luck this year so far.

I am so happy they won. This is a huge confidence boost for the team. Thank you secondary scoring and thank you TJ Brodie. We need everyone else to step up to turn this season around.

This is a good start. Bennett will be our #1 centre, he is going to be great. He is already one of the best players out there.

I still don't think this season is lost.

to be fair they interviewed Brodie right after but he was in too cool mode and was boring as #### to listen to. Sort of like McDavid is here.
