Just put that on net, Gaudreau. What's with these low percentage passes?

They still can't score but that was much better. Brodie is looking like the missing piece.

You see? I feel like with so few seconds left, Johnny should just shoot the dang puck instead of try to create what looks like at minimum a three touch play.
NYI analyst pointed it out last game, Gaudreau holds the puck too long looking for the pass. Had a good point.
EDIT: I want to clarify a bit. Johnny instead of making a good pass out of a good shooting lane, drifts out of the shooting lane letting the D men off the hook and giving them the one option to defend, the pass. It's a thing, watch for it tonight.

Gotta keep things simple on offense. Too many fancy moves boys. Put that puck on the net and the goals will come.

Team looks better this go around. I am noticing good things from Dougie. All the D really. Very enjoyable first period to watch.

Keep working and it will come. Just shoot everything though, no more looking for the perfect shot.

Need a big second period. Nine straight games without holding a lead after 2 needs to end.

Good period. I like the lines so far, especially the Monahan line. I think Gaudreau-Bennett-Frolik have the potential to be great, they're just not exactly gelling yet. I hope Hartley is patient with them.
Oh an TJ Brodie is the best god damned defenceman in the league. He's on another level.

Another good first period. Again nothing to show for it. Time to score five goals in the second.

This game isn't that hard; get in the triangle between the dots and the goalie, shoot, score.

Not sure if it's been said but we haven't scored a goal since first period vs NYR.
I mean, hard to blame the goalies for losing control at the end of games

- Brodie hasn't missed a beat.
- All three defence pairings are looking solid
- The relentless pressure and shots to the net are looking good.
- PP needs work still
- The Top two lines looking very good.

Hamilton is playing better. He's at least winning or tying up some battles now, and he was the only guy all period to shoot the puck hard on net when he got an open lane. I'd still like to see Smid out there on his left side instead of off-wing Engelland.

Strange having Brodie back is making the entire team play better.
Might be just what the Flames needed to get their stuff in order.
