One thing I wish they spiced up a bit was secondary guns. DD's should have to pay more of a price getting within 4 or 5 kms IMO. I don't think I've ever sunk a ship with secondary's. The Cleveland is covered in them and rarely scores a hit.

Unless you get the secondary guns boost flag equipped on your ship, yeah they're like scatter guns too. Not accuracy what so ever. You'd figure at point blank range they'd be more accurate. But that flag makes a huge difference.

I save them for BB's though as cruisers almost all the time have good enough reload rates you can HE the crap out of a close range dd and end things relatively quick.

Earning Medals. Playing in Ranked seasons, probably Team play as well. You can also buy "Drops" from the premium store now as well. I think the tope end flag drop is like 25 bucks.

This is the one I am talking about: Mike Yankee Soxsix. You get that from the close quarters expert medal. Meaning you sink something with your secondaries in battle.

I'm a pretty casual player, I've only played coop and random so clearly I'm missing out on something.

Almost each time I log in, I see the "Only x number of mins left in TeamPlay" I think it is? What is that and what are the ranked battles all about?

Team Battles are for MMO friends mainly though you can go in as a Free Agent and they'll form a team of solo players. Tournament style matchmaking.

Ranked play when the seasons start are for tier specific ships and they're 8v8 matches. You start at rank 18 and for every two wins in a row up until rank 12 I think gets you a rank up and prizes (mostly flags). Once you get into rank 10 it takes 4 wins in a row for a rank. Really fun. I like them. But you can get railroaded hard once you get to 4 w's in a row. Because each match loss loses you a rank star as well.

A bunch of game updates have helped this game alot lately too. It's been getting better and more fun to play.

Aw man......been waiting for those to arrive. I haven't played in a while as the game seems to freeze my rig each and every time I exit the game. I get, what sounds like a default windows alert, and then black screen. It's made me go back to World of Tanks.

Yeah I have been getting that fairly frequently with warships also. It seems to crash my graphics driver I think? Super annoying though.

I was just starting to get bored of it so I kind of spent more time on Star Wars Battlefront and again back to WOT. Maybe I will swing back and try it again for a while. I didn't have the graphics issues like you guys did though.

I've been playing it here and there again, I have noticed some changes that Damage is talking about. The game feels a bit better.

Got the tier 6 New Mexico researched the other day and been rocking that.

But I'm looking for people to do team and division ranked battles with.

New Mex is solid. But those american BB's are slugs up until the North Carolina. I got on the 5.11 update beta test and fooled around with the Iowa and North Carolina and they're the real prize of grinding the worst line in the game. Currently 60% exp earned towards North Carolina.

You'll find though once you get into the Colorado that New Mex's guns while many, are pea shooters and the COL's are Thors hammer if you get the lined up right. Just never leave your broadside open on COL, you'll go down fast and hard, New Mex can take a bit more punishment. Range is a thing as well between the two. COL has better max range. Better dispersion as well.

Everyone is onto the German BB's right now predictably, they're good. Lower tiers have insane secondaries some they makes amazing close encounter brawlers, more so than the Wyoming and New York. I'm on Konig right now and shes great even if she cannot turn worth a damn.

They're revamping the IJN DD line now as well, putting in new T7, T8 and T9 DD's and bumping Hatsuharu and Fubuki down to T6 and T7.

We're going to start seeing new branches of specific types now. Eventually leading into a BattleCruiser category when the British lines populate. As their new Cruiser line are all light cruisers, you won't be seeing the heavy cruisers like HMS Hood until then.

I'd love to team up but I just don't like to marry myself to groups and like to free flow through the game. Once the new ranked season kicks off though, I'll definitely be game to push through the ranks. I call ranked season flag season.

Yes! Worked my way up to the Hatsuharu and stopped playing the line because I couldn't compete against the US/RU DD's. If I got into close engagement with them, I was done for. Maybe I'll pick it back up again.

AFAIK, If you have a Hatsuharu, you get the new T7 DD as well.

I understand not having to be tied to a group everyone, I'm the same way. I like to lone wolf it as well but am definitely game for some ranked group matches.

Bump. Ranked seaon #5 is on now. If you want a great flag stockpile I suggesst you jump in and grind. I find ranked battles way more fun as the group are smaller and the tiers are locked to T6 up until rank 15 and then Tier 8 15 to 1.

I now have a fully upgraded North Carolina and boy was it worth the grind through the U.S BB line. My new favorite BB though has been Bayern the T6 BB. What a great little BB. I feel like its the smallest of them all.

I don't mind the Bayern, but it's getting frustrating to play since every match I'm in has a load of T8s.

Also annoying is the number of times I am facing 3 ships solo because the 4 other ships I'm with decide they have things to do on the other side of the map and bugger off. Did I miss the memo that everyone had to attack each other while in full retreat?

It's worse in ranked. You're trying to stick with the team and you're into it pretty good and then a bunch just cannot take the heat and bugger off. I'm currently stalwarted at rank 12 now and am 0-20 or something stupid. Rnjesus Hates my NC so much too. It's weird. I go play Nagato and chew up everything but once I go to battle in ranked with NC, everything turns to poo. No idea what's going on here. It's not me, I'm usually one of the few who last or push through to break the enemy tanks in two.

I wonder if we have enough players on CP to form a CP team. I haven't done any team play and only recently starting doing ranked battles.
