On major highways where there are no left turn designations left lane slow pokes make the road more dangerous. It's not just going slow in the left lane is bad, depends if there are intersections and left turns.

There would probably be people who would lie about that even on the site. And, has been mentioned before, this doesn't account for people who have open marriages. How people view that is up to them, but if both party's are in agreeance with that type of thing, who's to say otherwise?.

Why would you be on that site if you weren't looking to cheat or to help someone else cheat? Honest question.
Being the other man/woman is just as bad IMO. In the scenario without AM, the odds that someone legitimately doesn't know the person they are banging is married is an idea I might entertain for a few dates but beyond that, the person is either stupid or in denial. Wouldn't you wonder why your partner refuses to bring you out in public and wants to have all your dates in hotel rooms? That argument goes completely out the window if they met on AM, because it's basically a degenerates seeking degenerates free for all and you know what you're looking for if you sign up there.
The open marriage angle is not what I'm talking about. If both partners are in agreement and consent to it, it's not cheating. My wife and I could never do that, but I don't care if others do.

My goal isn't social justice. I don't have a goal, I just don't mind when bad things happen to bad people. Cheating will never be eliminated obviously, I just don't feel sorry for scumbags that get caught/exposed and have their lives turned upside down as a result.

Cheating and driving in the left lane aren't comparable things. The left lane is the passing lane, correct? If you were driving in it, I suppose I would favor you getting a ticket but I probably wouldn't think much of it at all to be honest. I'm not much a speeder though, so I rarely pass people and likely wouldn't care if you were doing that. If I was stuck behind someone going 20k below the limit and you were in the passing lane doing the same speed driving side by side with granny, well then I might have a problem.

This is an important distinction. It's not up to you to decide what is moral or immoral for someone else, within the confines of the law. And even then, it's not up to, it's up to courts and judges.

Right, what I'm saying is that there are likely people there who fall into this category. Do they deserve to have their identities and finances exposed? The point is no one knows the relationship status of any of these people. There could be just as many people on eHarmony looking to do the exact same thing. If they have a problem with the site being marketed as a cheating site, their gripe should be with AM, not the people.

This is fair, but again, it's not up to you or anyone else to punish them or find them guilty of anything. There's obviously deep rooted problems in any relationship where a partner ends up cheating, it's not black and white. I'm not referring to your goal (sorry that was a typo), I'm referring to the hackers' goal.

I'm just using it as an example of someone passing judgement or justice on someone else. If I'm going even let's say 125 on the highway in the left lane and some idiot comes ripping up behind me at 150 to ride my tail and I decide I'm going to social justice this guy into staying at a IMO reasonable speed, I imagine that person would be pretty pissed off. And I'm not even releasing their private information, indiscretions and mistakes to the world.
What the hackers have done is illegal (rightfully so) and are using that illegal act to make a statement on morality. It's not up to them to decide what's right and wrong. It's not up to us. And, in the case of cheating, it's not even up to the law. It's between them and their partner and no one else.

I think technology will catch up sooner or later to the cheaters. Smart phone with built in litre detector that really works would be quite disruptive. Best to make decisions you can live with and marry carefully.

A litre detector would be handy at all the pubs that seem to think that a 14-16oz beer qualifies as a 'pint'.

If my significant other made me take lie detector tests, it would drive me to cheating. Maybe murder.

At first I read it as lire detector.
But apparently I don't know how to spell lyre.

Back on topic, I wonder how many people actually signed up as "Ashley Madison", which is conveniently a unisex name. Sort of like signing up here as "calgarypuck"...

hackers finally post stolen ashley madison data
hackers finally post stolen ashley madison data
Quote:
a data dump, 9.7 gigabytes in size, was posted on tuesday to the dark web using an onion address accessible only through the tor browser. The files appear to include account details and log-ins for some 32 million users of the social networking site, touted as the premier site for married individuals seeking partners for affairs. Seven years worth of credit card and other payment transaction details are also part of the dump, going back to 2007. The data, which amounts to millions of payment transactions, includes names, street address, email address and amount paid. Ashleymadison.com claimed to have nearly 40 million users at the time of the breach about a month ago, all apparently in the market for clandestine hookups.
|
Quote:
the data released by the hackers includes names, addresses and phone numbers submitted by users of the site, though it’s unclear if members provided legitimate details. A sampling of the data indicates that users likely provided random numbers and addresses, but files containing credit card transactions will yield real names and addresses, unless members of the site used anonymous pre-paid cards. One analysis of email addresses found in the data dump also shows that some 15,000 are .mil. Or .gov addresses.

So how does one go about changing their credit card information now? Asking for a friend.
