I agree with Byron though, I think he is gone regardless of the Raymond situation, too many other guys chomping at the bit. Plus the potential off season additions.
I don't mind a trade for Raymond. But he's more useful than a buyout. I think he improves next year (it's his pattern).

That said, his style doesn't fit the team. His speed does, but not his forecheck.

I doubt it. He did say that as soon as Treliving was comfortable he'd be taking a back seat.

It's too bad Raymond isn't a baseball player because he has great Octobers...

I read an article this weekend that King and Burke came to the understanding that the GM will speak on hockey matters at the time of his hire

I'm disappointed, I thought Treliving was going to say our team is visually better.

"This media availability will reasonably satisfy everyone."

Thought Raymond was pretty good when he got in against the Canucks. He's not a guy who can play the Ducks though. He's an OK player for the money if he can stay healthy. Not worth buying out, and not very valuable as a trade. I could see him being waived if there's no room on the roster.

Interesting to see if they extend Hudler this year. Russell and Jones are also 2016 expiries.

I expect Treliving will try to get Brodie-like extensions on Johnny and Monahan. Colborne too, though that's an easier negotiation.

I would have paid a lot to hear "our team is visually better....... than the Oilers".

What did Colborne say about Raymond?

Reporter asked about his friendship with Raymond and how he thinks he's going to do next season and he started to reply, then paused a few times awkwardly when he said he thought Raymond would come back stronger. I really though he was more trying to avoid making comments on Raymond like he was going to let a cat out of a bag.

That seems like a bit of a reach to me.

He started by wanting to say Raymond was such a "good guy" but thought that term was used too casually, so went with "character guy" and said he thinks Raymond will come back better than ever.

Though I'd be happy if Raymond doesn't come back, I think he can play much better... but would prefer to see Shore, or Poirier, or whoever else get that shot at this point.

Well you guys could go listen to it yourself and make up your own mind. I gave my input because I was asked.

EDIT: sorry, there was a point where Colborne seemed like he wasn't sure where Raymond would come back stronger next year. May be a reach but I have takes on things that come from left field.

Where are you guys watching the full interviews? I can't find them on the flames website and I'm not too sure where else to look

I agree with Byron over Raymond. But Byron over Bollig? I don't know if that's a decision I would make. Bollig had a very uninspiring regular season, but he really showed his value during the stretch drive and playoffs. Was absolutely clutch when the games truly mattered.

Because the puck ended up on his stick at the right times thanks to his linemates?

I'd rather have the guy who goes and gets that puck in the first place. I'm glad Bollig was clutch but he still brings less to the table than Byron.

Agreed. Two playoff goals doesn't mitigate the absolute liability Bollig was on the ice during the regular season (that is when he wasn't scratched). Bollig is an extremely replaceable player, even without going outside of the organization. Wolf and Hathaway could immediately replace his ice time, never mind the possibility of upgrading from outside the organization with UFA or trade.

I admit I was open minded about the Bollig signing last summer but after watching the year he had and the year the players around him had, Bollig doesn't cut it.

You must have watched different games then I did, because outside of a couple goals Bollig didn't do much.

His side to side speed and inability to kill penalties take away from his value.

Ferland fills the role much better.

Bollig adds something off the ice though going by how Hartley had his locker next to Bennett's.
