Gaudreau giveaway = goal
Monahan giveaway = goal
Colborne penalty = goal
Three young, good players making mistakes and paying the price with a loss. Sucks, but they will learn and they will win the Flames way way more games than they will lose them in the future. Just sucks tonight.
The Gaudreau giveaway was the turning point of the game, imo. Kill a penalty then give that goal up quickly after? Deflating.
The reffing was just horrid. I don't care if the Flames got a 5-on-3 later to 'even it up', I'd rather they just call it the way it should be called the entire game. Corey Perry could do whatever he wanted to tonight, apparently. Good for him, I guess.
The Ducks didn't overwhelm the Flames tonight, the Flames gave this game away, unfortunately. Tough to watch, but the Ducks aren't some unbelievable force. I'm glad the Ducks feel good about themselves, they didn't look all that fantastic to me. Hope they think they have this one in the bag, that will bode well for Sunday. The Flames can still win this. There is no way in hell I'm giving up now.

Perry and Getzlaf are great players, not just against the Flames

Not sure if you noticed, but that was a pretty tight game. We weren't outplayed or outmuscled.
We had an answer for everything tonight, except for our own dumb mistakes.
I agree we should be working towards getting bigger, but it's not like we're getting manhandled out there.

Mike Johnson was saying he drew blood. If he didn't really drew blood then I don't see why the heck that ref gave him a double-minor then.

Can't be mad at all but the only frustrating part is I think they are right there and they kind of gave thus one toggle Ducks (plus refs). They've proved they belong, but some silly mistakes cost them. I guess growing pains, but I really believe this team could beat them.

If this is true then I'm absolutely disgusted by the call. Finishing a check is reckless but running the opposing teams goalie isn't even a penalty? Wow...

This is exactly the opposite of what an Oiler would say.
And this is why we are in the playoffs, and they are not.
They have played better every game. I truly believe they will pull out a miracle. I just have a feeling. If they break the curse in Anaheim, I honestly believe it will give them enough motivation to take this series.

I think the Flames should put Wolf back in for game 5 instead of Raymond. The running the goalie crap from Anaheim has got to stop.

Brutal officiating. Perry with two obvious interference penalties.
We lost this in the last 30 seconds of the second. Mony scores on that wrister instead of the post and it's a different game. There would have been no play behind the net where Colby takes the penalty.

Nights like tonight tell you who you should unfriend on Facebook.
How any Oilers fan has the gall to mock this team is beyond me.

I can't stand the Ducks they get away with murder out there. Flames had this game and it sucks to see them lose because of silly mistakes.

The worst is already far behind them.
The worst would have been just missing the playoffs, but they made it and the young guys are getting invaluable experience. They make mistakes but are generally holding their own against some of the league's elite.
The worst was losing their captain and best player. Others have stepped up and found another gear. This also bodes well for the team in the future.
So all that's really left is to hope for the best!
A little blind fanboy optimism in a playoff run isn't a bad thing, it's actually a lot more fun.
Now go get a win in that stinking pond!!

I honestly thought that was the best 5 on 5 defensive game from the Flames this series. The Ducks scored 2 on the PP (which has been blisteringly hot BTW), and then one on the turnover by Gaudreau with a late empty netter. Despite 4 goals, Perry and Getzlaf didn't have a single point. Hard to pin any of tonight on the defense.

Johnston never said he drew blood. He said the refs in any case need to call that a 4 minute regardless. He said that it was a terrible penalty and reckless.

Put Granlund in for some offence. Ferland and Bouma can handle the other stuff.

Can't blame Colborne too much, refs hasn't called a thing up until that point.
