Its an entertainment product; professing they're not allowed to be real fans is akin to telling someone they can't be a "real" fan of a particular restaurant because they didn't keep going there over and over when it was doing poorly and putting out terrible food that gave you the runs.
I said "I" despise bandwagon fans. I'm allowed to have an opinion, regardless of what others think.

And, I left out the part where he "pretends" most of the season to be a Flames fan, but never watches or knows anything about the team. But he finds time to watch the NFL and CFL and watches a number of Oilers games.

He's a bandwagon fan and personally I find them annoying.

Of course its your opinion and are entitled to it.

But I agree, the only real Flames fans are those that go to every game, live, breath, die for the Flames 24/7 through thick and thin. Oh, and the dome will be 1/3 full and the team would fold roughly 2 weeks into the season. But I'll be damned if those "fake" bandwagoners don't enjoy the success that I toiled to get!

If the Flames are putting out a junky product that isn't entertaining, people's care levels drop accordingly. They're a business and need to earn people's attention.

While I enjoy sarcasm, that's not the point of my post. I never said he couldn't be the fan that he wanted to be. I said I despise those types of fans. There are all types of fans. I just don't care for people who "pretend" to care. That's the way I feel about anyone in any facet of life, really.

The Flames are undefeated since my son sas born.

The Flames won the Stanley Cup the year I was born (three weeks after).

Coincidence? I think not!

Decided to wear red underwear today.... it just felt appropriate.

But going to the game. Super pumped. My mom even asked about the game tonight.

We win this and all the unsustainable crap will be forgotten by everyone.

Post of the year! And an eerily similar drunk to record ratio for me

The game is on at 10am here. I am going to schedule a "meeting" for that time. I am going to come home and watch the game on my television, instead of enduring the usual interruptions that force me to take almost all day to get through a game.

The more the merrier, I say. I get pumped when people who are casual fans start getting legitimately excited for games. To each their own!

I always watch AC's 2004 Wings/Flames video to get psyched up.

Default The Biggest Flames Game in 5 Years.

I can't believe I have to miss this game live! I'll be in mid-flight and land at midnight. It's gonna be a late night.

Yup, 2004 Wings/Flames Montage on the screen, 2004 Yelle jersey on my back.

Haven't been this excited for a Flames team since 2006.

I have my '04 jersey, and thought about wearing it, but just can't do it. This is a new team. One that deserves the love. I will be wearing my Gaudreau jersey.

Thanks, Sandbox was a huge part of that team.
