You got me. Saying MoP sucks is unfair, guess I got my timeline mixed up
AJFA can jump off a bridge however.
That explains it. I was genuinely confused about how someone could like RTL but not MOP. AJFA I understand though. I enjoy it, but I get why someone wouldn't. Definitely the worst of the good Metallica.
Everything they put out after that, however...

Since it seems this will fall into the unpopular opinion category.
Radiohead is the greatest band living today in any genre anywhere, and by the time they are done their legacy and influence will outweigh The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and any other British Invasion band combined.
Nickelback is better than Pearl Jam.
There's no way in heck Radiohead will ever be as influential as The Beatles.
One song alone (Tomorrow Never Knows) is likely more influential than Radiohead's entire catalogue will ever be.

Some of my favorites these days that may not be widely appreciated:
Shearwater
Margot and the Nuclear So and So's
Wovenhand/Sixteen Horsepower
The Head and the Heart
Jason Molina/Magnolia Electric Co.
I tried to get into the Head and the Heart, and I still do like some of their stuff, but the lead singer sounds way too much like Raffi for me to enjoy them. Too bad, I like their music.
The Beatles and the Rolling Stones are mediocre at best. Sure, some of their songs are pretty good but I can't think of one I'd want to listen to on repeat.

I'd argue they already are. Kid A alone has done more for music than the entire Beatles musical catalog, and I consider myself a massive Beatles fan.

This Album is straight up awesome, a band that was at it's peak, IMO.

I've always kind of thought we just need an ongoing music discussion thread. I think a lot of people (myself included) have a lot of opinions on music and I think there could be some great discussions to be had.
As for an unpopular opinion....
Endtroducing by DJ Shadow is the most remarkable album of the 90's. Not necessarily the best, but the level of creativity and effort and talent that went into that album is amazing.

There are a few - Music of 2015, Music Festivals, What Are You Listening To Now?, Upcoming Concerts.
The old music drafts were good - time for another one?

The Rolling Stones were always one of those bands that has brilliant songs at the core but I don't think Mick Jagger does them justice.
For example, the Marianne Faithful versions of "As Tears Go By" and "Ruby Tuesday" are better than the Stones version IMO, yet both songs were written by the Stones (although I believe Faithful actually recorded "As Tears Go By" first).

Oh man that album is just too good. Anybody who says sampling takes no skill should pop that LP in and shut up.
Portishead is better than Radiohead. Getting an enema is better than listening to Nickelback (Chad's voice is literally that grating, nevermind the embarrassing lyrics)
