Maybe not, but if you slotted him between two star wingers I think he could have a Langkow '07 type season. And then let Monahan and Bennett wreak havok the rest of the game.

So I've had my first experience with a delusional Oilers fan tonight.

I am up here in Edmonton working for the next few days and decided to take on Edmonton fine dining (BP's) during an Oilers game night for the first time. I walk in with my Flames hat on and sit at the bar.

Two seats down is a half cut (it's 5:30) Oiler fan. We start watching the game with me just keeping to myself. He starts talking trash to the bartender about how bad the Flames are and how they are just a fluke. Detroit scores their goals and I almost mistook him for a closet Red Wing fan for how loud he cheered.

Meanwhile I just sit back and drink my beer and eat my ribs knowing it's all good. By the 3rd Flames goal I just look over at the guy and the look on his face was priceless. Just a dumbfounded look of wtf he couldn't even stay in the bar anymore. The guy immediately asks for his tab and leaves in a huff.

Not sure if this post contributed anything, but I did love the feeling of sticking it to oiler fans even when we didn't play each other
Our heart and drive are like having a secret weapon that no one knows about. We sit back and relax down by two and then commence to kicking ass while others just sit there looking stupid.

At the beginning of this year, how many of us thought we'd be holding our breath when Russell, then Wideman, went down the tunnel after blocking hard shots? Great to see those two step up in Gio's absence.
the game in Nashville I absolutely just kicked Wideman square in the junk and ever since then he's been just fantastic.

It's been a long time since I have seen back to back flames wins. Being in the eastern time zone (and having to wake up early).
These guys are awesome. The game they play makes you happy just to watch them, then you see their speed and unending determination give so-called "high skilled teams" troubles and we out skill and work them.
Great game again from the new guys. Schlemko looked great, though with protected minutes. Shore's speed, reach, and work contributed directly to a goal. Backlund again unsung(ish).
I have been Luke warm on Colborne lately but then realized that he has been so effective that I don't notice him. Granted we would love him to show more of his skill and use his reach, or use his body size to gain advantage. But like a good shutdown guy, he has been consistent (granted I haven't checked any +/- or other stats).
Good feelings tonight with a nice scotch underflow.

I would actually go with Hiller, just due to the fact after Ramo started so many, Hiller has got to be playing with a chip on his shoulder. He knows he has to really up his game to stay in the net.

You really can't go wrong either way as Ramo has been outstanding as of late.

Damn proud of the team tonight was thinking oh crap this game is going to be ugly at the start but they turned it around big time. I know small sample size but shore and schlemko look to be great additions

He'll be a big piece. He'll probably even be one of those second/third liners that complete a team on a road to the cup. I don't however see him getting enough points to get league wide star status.

He'll be one of those under appreciated two way guys. But outside of cities he plays in, he might not get the recognition he deserves.

I love the guy. I want him here forever. But league appeal.. it's building very slowly.

Blah! Enough negativity. Yay Backlund! Yay Flames! Loving this team.

Fun thing is that I was watching never became worried. Not that I knew we would win, but just never had that sinking feeling. It's a different season for sure

Serious question: does it really matter? No one here thinks Dion made the image, I'm sure the Flames web-staff know he's not trying to claim ownership of the image and he's not making any money off the image. Seems like he was just posting an interesting tidbit after tonight's game. Again, I have little to no legal knowledge, I actually want to know if this is against the law and if it is, would anyone responsible even care to bring attention to it?

Shore battled hard for that point too. Corner, lost it, regained it, lost it again, regained it again.

Huge effort. Way to go Drew!

He seems to legitimately care about the team. Jay was a good guy, who has his fingerprints all over the make-up of this team. Yes, he had some definite near miss disasters, but I'd like to thank Jay for what he did in his time here.

Sorry, but you don't get to talk about people making curious comments / notions about current players. Ever.

You are the poster boy of needing to admit to everyone you were wrong.

I'd like to know how someone thinks they will be able to beat Calgary in a 7 game series. They just don't go away. Impressive. #Flames

The only team may be Anaheim and that is because we would have to play 4 games at the Honda Center.

We owe Jay a good dose of gratitude for his ability to tear down and start a rebuild in record time.
