On a personal level, I hate how Buffalo trades for an injured player that ultimately aids in their goal of finishing last overall.
I hope they end up like the Oilers.

Yes...the collective groupthink drive-by. Very clever.
Despite the fact thats basically what they got. And Tyler Myers. And Magic Beans. Oh, except the Jets had to throw in Bogosian for all the little extras.
That 1st is likely going to be in the 20-30 range and Tyler Myers and Drew Stafford have hardly been lighting the league on fire.

So Kane will replace Stuart as the polarizing, underperforming winger in Buffalo.

Myers and Bogosian are similar players (except one is super tall).
They were drafted in the same year, Bogosian 3rd overall and Myers 12th.

If you are going to post crap to try and feel better about yourself, feel free to get lost and go post at Winnipegpuck instead.

If Kane turns it around then this ends up being a slight win for Buffalo imo.
Deep draft, so that pick is very valuable. Stafford is basically a rental. Lemeiux went high in a fairly shallow draft. Armia is 22 years old and couldn't stick on the worst roster in the NHL. Armia and Granlund are the same age and came from the same league, so use that as a comparison. I would rather have Granlund 14 out of 10 times. Myers was drastically under performing and his value was at an all time low.
Kane-McDavid could end up being a scary combination for years to come. Or McDavid will start posing with money stacked on top of him and this whole thing goes south. To early to tell. But today as it stands right now, it is a win for Winnipeg. Addition by subtraction... then more addition.

Stewart is often lazy on the ice. I'm not sure I've heard that complaint of Kane to the same degree.

I think Myers is going to be decent. He was relied on to be the #1 guy in Buffalo. In Winnipeg he'll have a few guys ahead of him on the depth chart. With less responsibility and a better team, I think he'll start to play better.

My understanding is the issues in Winnipeg were teammate based, not City based. Nor did I hear he demanded a trade.

I didn't mean to lump everyone together. That's my bad and poor judgement to make that post. Sorry. For real.

No but they both carry baggage and both have not performed to expectations. With the culture of losing in Buffalo I'm kind of surprised that they would take this risk but at the same time see that they felt they needed a somewhat proven winger for their upcoming top two centers in McDavid and Reinhnart.

Doubt it, Myers is still a young player (especially for a dman) with lots of upside. Jets will be really patient with the player.
Its a really interesting trade for the Jets, who I bet are thrilled to move Kane.
Risk the Sabre's took is the 1st -2015 pick that was traded. Which is a really deep draft. (no clue which pick was moved)

I agree, but in the end, if you're no good you must embrace the no good. They merely adopted the no good, Edmonton were born in it, molded by it.

I don't think Myers is better than Bogosian, and I know nothing about Kasdorf, so can't comment on that, but Stafford is good-not-great and is a UFA.

I've only watched 6 Buffalo games this year, but in those games he was just awful. Less responsibility isn't going to help. He's just dumb out there. Can't pass, falls all the time and makes god awful reads. People are thinking "Chara was just like that". Yep, except you can't just expect that to suddenly change like it did with Chara. Myers is baaaaaddd

The Jets get Myers (6'8"), Stafford (6'2"), and Armia (6'3") while losing Kane (6'2") and Bogosian (6'3").
The tall get taller.

Not much of a risk. They had 3 of them, one of which belongs to the New York Islanders who are second in the East and flirting with first and another which belongs to St. Louis who are third in the West. Those are late, late firsts at best.
Especially when they still retain their own first which will be a lottery pick.

It's a good thing size has no correlation to winning in the NHL.
