Hmm...If someone were to lay me 8-to-2 if the Flames win tonight or 7-to-3 if they lose tonight for the Flames to miss the playoffs, I would take that bet every time, sadly.

Calgary pulls ahead of Winnipeg tonight for % chance of playoffs. 3 losses in a row and I'm ready to hit the panic button if we lose in YYC Monday

With a Flames win tonight, we can leap over Vancouver and slot into 3rd place in the division and temporarily have a cushion on the teams chasing us. Need a big one from the oilers tonight (lol) to keep SJ within striking distance.

13.6% swing in playoff odds depending on tonight's game. Win and were +5.3%. Lose and we are -8.3%. In regulation, that is.

3 games at hand for the Canucks is huge.

Think he meant after the game tonight. Don't think the Nucks play today.

Yup.

I think our main benefit of a win tonight is eliminating that massive cushion that winnipeg had before their skid. More playoff spots up for grabs.

I noticed that the other day when I was looking at the standings. Philly is the only team who seem to have a remote chance to make a push into the top 8. Lots of position jockeying to be done there, but the playoff teams do appear to be settled there.

So if the playoffs started today, the Flames would play Nashville? I think they would have a shot against them. Anaheim would be tough on the road...and the Blues would probably cream them.

John Shannon during the EDM/SJ intermission "boldly" predicted that the team in the 9-12 spots currently in the West will ALL make the playoffs. Said VAN, CGY and WPG will be out for sure and not sure on the 4th.
