My personal opinion is it's about on par with calling a woman a see you next Tuesday.

What's your angle?

It's really crazy to use a professional twitter account to hit on anyone.

It's not victim-blaming because his only real transgression here is using a professional account and thus the victim is the Denver Post. And any harm he may have done to them is probably pretty negligible too.

Well screw Dater, he really came off as an idiot. He had chances to tone down his social media behavior and didn't.

Now I was gonna write a few insincere thoughts about hopefully he gets it turned around but you know what.. I am sick and tired of people acting like A-Holes and then coming out saying " I have problems but have some pity for me." See the Bertuzzi "apology"..

Hey Dater, how about the next time you are gonna sit down and get pissed up remind youself to stay off social media that night...OR say to yourself I have been getting in trouble at work because of the booze maybe I should tone it down. It's not like it was the first time he was reprimanded.

All that said I know there are people in this world with sincere substance abuse problems and I applaud them for trying to get better.

But guys like Dater use it as an excuse when they get caught doing something wrong.

Good riddance.

Ya, the guy shouldn't use a company account for that kind of thing. He also could be much more tactful in his attempts at "courting" because that was pathetic. I'd say his firing is a lot extreme, but then again this may not be the only indecent, just the last one.

There has to be more to this.

A guy gets fired for making a awkward pass at a chick?? It's only creepy because she wasn't into him. If a guy she was into said that stuff to her pics of her ###ayjay would have been flying all over the internet.

And to be completely honest the chick is a complete attention whore, she probably needs more professional help then dater does.

According to this article, he's had a few twitter tirades and meltdowns while under the Denver Post account. As well as arguments with fans. Looks like him and the internet are not a good match: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...020954411.html

Also, looks like this girl has set up a media interview with a Denver Sports Radio station tomorrow morning and will be posting a blog tomorrow morning with her thoughts about this situation and comments she's gotten on her Twitter.

-Event 1: Dater being a jerk.

-Event 2: me deciding that posting your cleavage on the internet is unprofessional.

-Event 1 and Event 2 can be mutually exclusive. Event 2 could and would happen regardless of Event 1.

-Complaints of Event 2 being dependent on Event 1 is a way to create confusion with an agenda.

Oh, BRB, gotta go post pictures of my junk on the internet and then complain when people tell me they lost respect for me for posting pictures of my junk on the internet.

Both parties are at fault here. In fact, at fault feels weird to say as it's amazing how much this has blown up when really, aside from inflaming a big issue, as a stand alone it's almost a non-issue.

While I'd stop well short of harassment or anything else more serious or in that realm, Adrian's comments were sexist and 'piggish' and just plain not cool. And perhaps an example of bias and sexism in our culture.

Add to that, he made these comments from a public and professional account (if I am reading this and the comments right?) and yeah, it's stupid, unprofessional, and just a massive no-no.

However, on the other side if Maria does want to be taken as a professional, she picked the wrong avatar photo and definitely left herself open to such comments. I realize someone would call this comment of mine 'slut shaming', and that is not my intent, I hate that as well. I will say however, there is a HUGE difference between a girl shamed for dressing up or even provocatively to go to the bar (or wherever), and one using it in her professional career or to lure business and or professional attention. That's where the line is for me. First example, nothing wrong with it. Second, yeah, there's a little something wrong with it. We all have to deal with lines in our public and especially work lives, sexual and otherwise, men and women.

Secondly, the timing is weird and it does feel that there is some attention grabbing here. I may be way of base, but it appears to be a little off.

My 2 cents.

Lastly, someone posing as Flameswin and hating on the CP community in general? Shut this mommy's basement hiding, cheeto stained, no date, seven time a day masturbator down! You can tell from his comments he's one of those fringe types in women hating groups.

I just recall the St. Louis media member saying he would keep a "very close eye" on Conroy and the Flames' progression versus Stillman and the Blues (in other words, he was taunting the then-terrible Flames for never being able to be as good as the Blues again - this was the pre-cap NHL days). He was very arrogant about it.

I hope he did keep that close eye he claimed to, as it was just a couple seasons later when Conroy helped lead the Flames to within a goal of the Cup. Would've loved to hear his thoughts at that point..
In addition to what you mentioned, Jeff Gordon claimed that the Flames would never ever make the playoffs again on more than one occasion among other things.

Men who make sexual advances towards women are idiots, especially if they do so while using their company's official Twitter account.

Women who give men a reason to make sexual advances by posting provocative photos of themselves are also idiots.

I am always amazed at the number of women who post semi-nude/provocative photos of themselves on Twitter or Facebook to a worldwide audience and proceed to get outraged when people make lewd comments about them. If you don't want people to talk about it, don't post it. It's that simple.

Was never a Dater fan but I hope he gets the help he needs to overcome his substance abuse issues.

The one thing that people are (choosing to?) overlook is the fact that social media impropriety is not new to Dater. He was suspended for two weeks in October for a Twitter meltdown, he has been forced by the paper in the past to alter blog entries due to content, and god only knows how many times they spoke with him internally.

I find it ironic that people who thought she was a media member were criticizing her for apparently failing to act as a professional given their arguments essentially acted as a defence of a guy who most certainly failed to act as a professional on many occasions.
