The fact that he missed the entire pre-season coupled with the nagging injury are pretty good explanations for his not matching last season's level of play.

Might have been talked about already, but still worth showing. I was looking at the 2010 draft, just to find a bit more about where Calgary drafted Ferland, and came across some interesting facts for tonight's game:

Ferland was drafted 133rd overall. He will be the 72nd player from the 2010 draft to play a game in the NHL

34% of the players drafted in 2010 have played at least a game. 67% of the players drafted by the Flames in 2010 will now have played a game, and as we all know that is with 0 first or second round picks.

Only two players drafted after him have played more than the average for 2010 Draftees (59games): Brendan Gallagher and Dalton Prout. He will be the 7th player in the 5th round to play an NHL game.

Was a long road for Ferland to get here, I've always had faith in him since I saw him play a late season game against the Blades in 2012. Hope he manages to stay with the big club.

Thanks for sharing that. Just shows how solid our drafting has been in this decade.
