lol, first it takes remenda a 5 goal deficit to say it's a real "test of character" to see if the oilers can come back, then we get to hear about some aunt of hall that is in attendance.
this SN crew is on par with the roster they cover.

Taylor Hall's Aunt and Uncle from Australia are in the crowd. They join Taylor's +/- rating in the "things that are from down under" category.

Yakapov being -3 in less than 6 minutes of ice time is pretty impressive.
Draisaitl is -3 in 6:02 of ice time and lost all three faceoffs... so he's clearly ready for this.

MacTavish needs to make a move for a decent centre or the Oilers will be conceding the season early for McDavid. They will be too far behind to catch up if they don't act soon.
This god damn team has had enough top 5 picks.

They finally realize that it's not the coach, experience, vets, goaltending, etc. It's the dirty, lazy, entitled, rotten core. Despite that realization, they still think that each one of them can get a kings ransom back in a trade. It's remarkable.
Trading Schultz, Yakupov or Eberle would just be lipstick on a pig. If they want to shake things up, RNH or Hall need to be moved (in conjunction with a purging of everyone in management and coaching staff.

Let's be completely honest here... this team is going to still be atrocious with McDavid

I didn't really appreciate how bad the Oilers are until watching them live. I'd be bored at this game if we weren't laughing so hard. I almost didn't come, glad I did.

It's easy to see why the Sharks dumped Remenda, eh? How you play down 0-5 is a "test of character"? Good lord.

And Draisaitl staying with the team getting minutes centering the 2nd line is exactly why this team is, and will for a very long time be no good.
We are talking about Gaudreau needing AHL time, we had to be dead convinced Monahan earned his spot last year and Bennett had very little chance staying up this year. Draisaitl? They were talking about him making the team on draft day.

Funny how so many other fans - and not just oiler fans - think we flames fans are joking when we say that the oilers are still terrible and will still be at the bottom of the league yet again this season. When will this joke of an organization stop getting the benefit of the doubt from the media and other hockey fans?

I think the funniest thing is how they thought adding Pouliot, Purcell, Nikitin and Fayne for 19 million bucks a year were the moves that would get them back into the pack.
With all the money they have committed to bad players with term, it's just becoming more and more of a mess.
They really don't have any choice but to trade someone out of their young core. But it's felt that way for a year or so and they've sat on their hands.

Yeah, and you know that no matter how bad he is, no matter how much he might be wrecked in the long term, I would be utterly amazed if they ever sent him to the AHL. They should have just signed him to a 1 way contract and been done with it. These rookies never need the 2 way bit of the ELCs they sign.

Classic Oilers. Gordon/Nikitin smash into each other. Gordon to the dressing room although he didn't look badly hurt.

There is no doubt in my mind that if rnh and eberle were playing it would be 10-0 already for the kings

Exactly. Regardless of the validity of it, the feeling in the locker room is a) it's ok to lose, and b) being drafted top 5 = $$$$
Really tough to succeed when you're talking to a group who doesn't need to care.
