With the 2 year contracts, it isn't as bad anymore. I have no problem holding my phone for 2 years anymore and then upgrading.
Yeah. That's how I kind of feel now actually. 2 years is not that long with a phone. 3 was brutal, but 2 is decent. Think I might look at the Nexus 6 on contract when mine is up.
Thanks. Just going to wait for the OTA. Everything on my Nexus 5 is still stock. Haven't even rooted it. No need to.
Sounds like OTA's for the 7's and 10 will roll out on Nov 3rd and the 4 and 5 will be after that. So a void two or three weeks for Android 5 to come out. I used the old preview and it was quite nice, will give the new one tomorrow a whirl as well.

Yeah buts what made a great off contract choice. Solid technology at a bargain price. The monthly rates one pays for 2 year contracts is criminal. Would cost me around $60 extra per month to go on new contract (which almost doubles it).
N6 is a bit pricey to buy outright - and makes the 1+1 look like an even better alternative
A lot of my Google apps have been updated to Material Design over the past week, only calendar and people/contacts is waiting. Play Store was updated a couple weeks back and in recent days Music, Movies/TV and Gmail yesterday. Loving Material Design so far, it's a beautiful change. Can't wait for actual reviews of the Nexus 6.
