I would normally disagree with calling a tie, but seeing as both prospects play the same position and both hold roughly double the 3rd place, I'm fine with it.
Then on the other hand, it's a long hockeyless summer. So good either way really.
It will be slightly skewed because of injuries. I don't have time to go through individual game sheets to determine how many goals were scored with and without each player in the lineup so i just used the total goals scored by the team in that season.
FWIW here's an updated graph in the back burner that shows Jankowski had higher scoring relative to his team than the other two. I still voted Ortio though - he has the best chance of making an impact.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but has anybody found a way to vote in these polls using tapatalk on their phones?
Don't think you can really. You have to select 'web view' in the options, then log back in and vote that way. Probably doesn't help but that's how I do it.

Yeah I went with Gillies because he's of higher pedigree. I like what Ortio did last year in both the AHL and NHL but I don't know if he screams "franchise goaltender".
None of our goalies scream "franchise goaltender". I wouldn't be shocked if in 5 years our starter is someone not in the system right now. When's the last time this organization drafted a worthwhile goalie? Mike Vernon? They all are intriguing for sure but I wouldn't bet on any of them yet. Even Ortio looked like he was one season away from being released, then he had such a good year in Abby last year. Now he needs to up his game several more notches if he wants to be a starter (I thought he was just ok at the NHL level last year, Kipper-esque demeanor or not). Does he have it in him? Who knows, but I've seen enough of the Kidds, Krahns and Irvings of the world to temper my expectations until one of them proves it at the NHL level.
Horak was likely a more valuable part of the deal but neither came close to the real value in that trade - cap space. Oilers needed to unload Smid to sign Bryzgalov and not many teams had the cap space and the need for a defenseman at the time.
If you believe what Feaster and MacTavish said at the time of the trade, it seems like the Oilers were really high on Brossoit and he was the key to getting it done. They didn't seem to be all that interested in Horak, which is probably why he'll be playing in Russia next season.
