Part of the reason Fifa has said about the moving away from the golden goal is potential lack of stadium safety. With silver goal or regular extra time, security can be in place for the end of a game. The pandemonium after a sudden death goal does, depending on the venue and situation and all that involves is probably a possibility for troubles that get out of control.

For everyone moaning about the 0-0, this is the best 0-0 I have seen for a while.

No negatives against "soccer" here please.

Both teams are still attacking where they can.

The ref has been very poor this game.

It's not even close to the best in this tournament. Unless "a while" is since the round of 16. Brazil Mexico was an amazing 0-0 game.

While not a classic, this is a well played game between two very good teams. I've seen much less attacking football in more then a few games.

The score could easily be 1-1 and any would then consider it much better, simply because of seeing goals and seeing a team level the score... but the quality of play had been pretty good overall.

Really? Brazil had 2 great chances and Ochoa was equal to them. Not a great game.

Kroos has to be an Argetinian secret agent.

Aguero should be out with the second yellow there.

Interesting decision point: do you sub Schweinsteiger? Personally, I try to patch him up quickly.
