I can see another 30 goals season with the talent on this team.

Who has better U 24 talent in the league than Colorado? Their best players should get better. So unlike the Leafs, I think the possession stats can get better.

Yeah. I was was a lifelong Iggy fan too.... during his life with the Flames.
The first year with the Pens was the okay to cheer for him.
Reminds me of the guy pining his life away over his first real love, when in reality it's time to move on

Shame on Iggy for wanting to win a Cup, he should just retire because he isn't a Flame anymore.
He hasn't earned anything!

I don't think it's a good fit, the Avs are a speed reliant team and I don't think I can see Iggy catching up with the likes of Mackinnon, Duchene or Landeskog

Iginla spoke to TSN in a phone interview and said that the opportunity to re-unite with Tanguay was one of the biggest factors influencing his decision to choose Colorado over Vancouver. Another important reason was that he wasn't sure how he'd fit into Vancouver in the midst of their re-building. Said that he'd love to stay in Boston but their cap space was such that they couldn't even give him a one-year deal and he knew that Boston was not going to be an option for him.

Extremely glad he did not sign with the Csucks that would have made me puke.
Good for him to get the longer term for his family but not sure how he will fit with a run and gun bunch of flyers on the Avs.
Boston i think will prove to have been a better hockey fit but happy for Iggy though.

Ah, crap. I hate the Avs. Still better than the alternative I guess.

I'm not really understanding why you can't be a fan of both Iggy and the Flames. Why does it have to be mutually exclusive? It's not like they are both going to be competing for the Stanley Cup.

Because when you win the Conn Smythe with Ruslan Fedotenko and Pascal Dupuis on your wings, it must be because you don't make your linemates better...

I call this one at the end of the playoffs. It seems like a natural fit.

Definitely excited to see Jarmoe in Colorado. Can't think of a greater class act to mentor the young kids than Iggy...well, Sakic I guess...(insert taco bell "why not both" kid here).
The Colorado Avalanche Charity Golf Classic should be pretty epic this year as well.

Fair question.
II am a fan of Iggy. I wish him all the best. I would be happy if he won a Cup, no matter where.
I will simply never cheer for any team that isn't the Flames.

Can Iginla keep up with the young Avalanche forwards? They might have to stick him with another slow forward like Tanguay.

Really like that he went to the Avs. I was hoping he would sign a 2-3 year deal with an up-and-coming club and have a few shots at the cup with, rather than go from one team to another every year. I don't think I ever hated Colorado too, so that is a plus for me as an Iginla fan - even though they were divisional rivals for years. Gets high-end young centers to play with, gets Tanguay back whom he had chemistry with. Gets some stability for himself and his family. Gets an honest shot at the cup during that span by the looks of their team. Win all-around.
