So essentially the Oilers got a player on a bad contract the Lightning were going to buy out and the Coyotes got a player on bad contract the Lightning were also going to buy out and after all this the Lightning don't have to buy anyone out and actually net a pick/prospect? The draft pick is probably a better long term return than Purcell (given his contract) but MacTavish needed to get a guy to avoid having his ego hurt. Enjoy the overpaid soft winger oilers.
