Boomer & Rhett @BoomerAndRhett 3m
According to @RealKyper, the #Flames have settled with forward Joe Colborne on a 2-year deal worth just under 1.3 million per season.
Update: $1.25 Million per season

I really hope Joe can develop into a legitimate 2nd line RW.
Our 2018 Cup Winning Top-9:
Gaudreau-Bennett-Poirier
Baertschi-Monahan-Colborne
Klimchuk-Backlund-Arnold
The pieces that would need to fall into place to make this happen make it highly improbable but sigh. One can dream.

What pieces need to fall into place? You just mean everybody has to develop? Cause we already have all those prospects and they are our top prospects. Not sure id say it's highly improbable that most or all turn out. And we do have backup prospects like Granlund, Reinhart and Jankowski if a couple do bust. And we'll likely be drafting to 5 again this year in a strong draft.

Yes prospects need to develop into 1st line cup-winning NHL forwards. And Arnold needs to move to RW.
Anyways good signing on Colborne. He's got two years to prove that he's a top 9 forward in this league.

awesome news, he looks like he's really starting to come into his own with the Flames. I've always liked the kid and hope he's part of the long term solution moving forward.
I like guys like this, other teams seem to give up on them and then they flourish with the Flames. Just a great story all together.

Great signing.
I'm not sure he can be a top 6 player on a contender but he seems to be good enough defensicely that he could move into a 3rd line role when the team improves and is a good fit with Monahan for right now.

He should still be a RFA in 2 years as well I think. He'll be 26 and only played 4 years pro
Happy with this deal, I hope he can continue progressing and live up to his 1st round pick potential

Good deal. Right in the neighbourhood of where he should be.
