You're a Habs fan, ergo you should probably be cheering for Spain so you can do your 'Ole, Ole' thing.
Yes, it doesnt make sense that a French team use a Spanish chant in a Canadian sport but they're your team and these inconsistencies are what you signed up for.

Modric is more playmaker than goal-scorer though. The guy doesn't exactly have a booming shot.

One thing that is making this fun for me as well: my 8 year old is interested for the first time. He loves soccer and is a decent player at it. hope to try to get him to sit down long enough to watch a match or two.

Is anyone familiar with this place:

The sony website is indicating that they have the games in 4K format at this site, thinking about taking the family there, is it a pub only?

He does score the odd wonder-goal. As a Liverpool fan I can attest to that. Plus he'll likely be Croatia's man for set-pieces.
That said, I'm hoping Ivica Olic has a great tournament. Always loved that guy.

Would picking Uruguay to win it all be considered out of the blue? Because, that is who I am taking.

Gustavo is the best holding midfielder in the world in my opinion. Hugely underrated and I think he will be the biggest piece of Brazil's tournament success

Interesting. I'll be watching him more closely now, as it's a slight -- slight - position of opportunity with United..

It's the former Classic Jacks. It's decent during the day, but wouldn't bring any under-agers.

The England team visited an orphanage in Brazil today. “It’s heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope” said Jose, age 6.

I think Brazil wins 2-1, but Croatia scores first. World Cup jitters.

It is pretty close now IMO.
South American teams are class. African teams are good. Asian teams have improved. Really just CONCACAF is the weak sister now.

I think what I love is that 31 teams ultimately lose this tournament and anyone with one of the losers ethnic backgrounds who cares about, I'm going to harass the holy hell out of them. It's an arseholes dream.
So if there are a bunch of Portugese folks in my neighbourhood, I want Portugal to embarrass themselves.
I work at a company where like 50% of the people are Dutch...I have a lot of disdain for Spain....but I love coming to work and asking everyone how come you're not wearing orange shirts to work today? What happened to your Dutchmen yesterday they really screwed that up.

I was just thinking how I can't believe it's been 20 years since World Cup USA. I was 10 at the time and it's the first World Cup I really followed.
Next thing you know, he'll be 20 years older and remembering this World Cup like it was yesterday.
