Deep friend cheesecake sounds excellent. I'll have to search out that vendor.
The website made it look like a bacon cheeseburger in between a regular glazed donut sliced in half. It was two full maple glazed/dipped donuts as the bun.

Nowhere on the website did it say it was a maple donut, so that caught me by surprise. The maple sugar flavoring was pretty overpowering, and with the heat from the burger the glazing practically ran out of the burger into the wrapper and anywhere else it could drip and drop.

I only recommend it so that you can say that you have had such a creation.

The deep fried cheesecake was amazing, but I would recommend not trying to eat it with the flimsy plastic fork they give you. Just pick it up and eat it like a burrito.

Do they have different types of cheesecake (blueberry or strawberry or whatever) or is it just a standard new york style cheesecake? In any case I'm sure it is fantastic.

Just the standard cheesecake, although they did have chocolate sauce for it. However, the vendor I was at was incredibly busy and they didn't offer me any sauce. Plain still tasted fantastic as they sprinkle it with what I think was cinnamon and icing sugar.

Anyone know if there is a Twitter account that monitors the line at Nashville North?

^I wouldn't think so. I think the line works like clockwork though and you can break up the day into chunks. Opening to mid-point of the rodeo: no line. Mid-point to end of rodeo-ish: might be a line. End of rodeo-ish to 6 pm: wait hour or so. 6 pm and later: wait couple of hours. I would expect shorter wait times when it's raining. Something like that anyways.

Anyone know if I can get access to the stampede store without paying to get on the grounds? I want to get a new buckle in the morning and have afternoon tickets. I want to get the new one so I can change buckles before going to the rodeo and having 2 buckles on me

Get your hand stamped for re-entry. Pretty sure that should work.

Spent 9-ish hours on the grounds yesterday, barely made it out of the kids section, lol. Good time had by all though, my kids had a blast. Would have stayed longer, but my body was done, that sun was a killer yesterday.

Yes. It's on their twitter page.

@calgaryherald: RT @calgarystampede: Due to high wind gusts tonight, the Calgary Stampede was unable to go ahead with fireworks after the Grandstand show.

Yeah we went to Shania last night and upon leaving (10:30ish) were greeted by what felt like hurricane force winds....which actually felt good as the dome was really warm. Went walking for a bit as we were gonna hang for the fieworks, but i said to the the little lady that the wind would likely cancel the pyro show and we decided to leave. It was just wayyy to breezy for any fire to be thrown into the sky....speaking of which, it was kind of weird to have that much wind but no stom/cloud of any type along with it.

Haha, totally. Felt awesome. We were so far back though once they lowered the speakers we couldn't hear anything.

The roundup was a blast though, besides the insane line for beer.

Anyone who went to Shania last night remember what time she actually started? Any opening act?
