not a rip on your post just a general comment about this whole debate.

Not sure if they tanked for Crosby...but they did very little to prevent it. You can come up with your own conclusion...but perhaps you should take a look at this article about lemieux

http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/p...s/200912170417

I have nothing but respect for teams like Boston, Detroit,L.A, Anahiem, St.Louis and Calgary to a lesser extent, these are teams that quite frankly built there teams through smart trades and late round picks. Why would I cheer for a team that historically has relied upon the charity of the NHL drafting system to provide them with elite players. Pittsburgh took the easy road to winning....by losing season after season after season. Like I am suppose to have respect for this!

You know why I am a die hard flames fan because year after year, they play their hearts out and does management ever complain about any shred of fairness in the NHL drafting system....no...they just go about their business of trying to build a contender.

Hopefully the NHL look at changing the NHL lottery system, because it is a joke

No kidding. Get it back to a 1 goal game and then give up another goal against next shift. Brutal.

With Dolan in charge the ineptitude is very far reaching within MSG.

Oh Bob Cole. I feel for him but that was pretty bad there as for a few seconds there he was saying the series was over tonight.

I caught that but was he just implying that down 3-1 is being on your death bed, especially given how piss poor the Rangers have played?

I don't think so. Sounded to me like he was covering up for his mistake.

Maybe he just wished it had ended like I am sure we're all wanting.

It's been a meh series, but the Penguins are definitely looking like an elite team again.

Yep. If you go back with your PVR (if you have one) at the 22 second mark he says; "and the season is coming to a close for New York" then there's a pause and he stutters; "in two games time".

I actually had to do a double take when he said that as although you would never think it by the last three games, the Rangers actually won the first game.

I think the Flyers would have made for a much better series. This is just awful watching Nash, Richards, and St. Louis play like this.

Pens/Flyers would have been far more entertaining.

For shame.

The Rangers are just a boring team to watch. It's been like this since Jagr left it seems, regardless of the coach.

In Bob Cole's defence, this series has been so bad, 4 games have felt like 7.
