It took me 5 minutes of looking at his signature, to realize what you were talking about. Lol

Rob wasn't the best at PBP but other than Peter I don't think there is anyone out there that really has his finger on the pulse of the team like Kerr...I hope he goes back to the Fan

I don't know if you should be so quick to use a "there" again. It's probably best to give it some time.. (lol)

Although I must say wrucos's transgression was pretty much the equivalent of a grammar faceplant, as he replied to your post with the complete opposite misuse of their/they're. Funny, yet embarrassing for him..

Then again, he probably doesn't give two ####s.

I wonder if Hrudey will be the new colour guy, he lives in Calgary no? I could see him taking on that role. I think he actually likes the Flames and follows them, but he goes overboard in trying to be non-bias and looks anti-flames/jerk. That said, I think he would do a decent job.

I wonder two things about this. If the negativity of having the audio out of sync was taken away would that have bought them an extra year or two? Also is it possible that Kerr was just in the wrong seat in the booth? If given Simmers job does Kerr come across as a better commentator with more time to explain his insights into the game, which are very good, and less shrieking and accentuating random words due to his excitement?
I would expect that Rob Kerr returning to radio would result in a better overall product on the Fan, which would in turn allow them to pay their people because they'd be able to sell more ad space. Maybe?

Hate to see anyone lose their job and I always find Kerr entertaining, and that's the business he's in.
Plus, now we'll here tons of Lou talking about "when you love something and it's ripped away from you it hurts like allll get-out. I know it happened to me".

When you're in a field that has less than 100 available positions worldwide, you can't expect to keep your job for very long when you're objectively in the bottom tier. Nobody would've ever thought to replace Rob on the radio because Rob is indisputably excellent in that role. He was not good at this job, thus he does not get to do it anymore. He will land on his feet, as he now has the potential to save an entire radio station. I hope he's sent to the draft, and I hope Rogers realizes that without Rob Kerr returning to our airwaves, 960 will be a mariachi station by Christmas that happens to broadcast Flames games.

Rob Kerr had an opportunity many of us will never have. Not only did he get a shot at his dream job, he had it for three years. Boomer likely will and definitely should take fans to task for their treatment of his friend. It's what friends do. I don't think Rob can ever be criticized for lack of effort, just a lack of aptitude. Maybe he has it in him to be great, but like any prospect, the way to cultivate that was reps in the minors. He was rushed into a situation where the odds of success were stacked against him, because some corporate hacks at Sportsnet didn't want to hire a real PBP man. The only way it would've worked is if Rob were some sort of PBP savant, and it was apparent to anyone with a brain that he wasn't.

I take no joy in learning that Rob has been relieved of his duties as voice of the Flames. I do think our broadcasts will improve in quality, but I genuinely empathize with the man. This was a three-year Kobiyashi Maru. Mr Kerr, thank you for your efforts. I look forward to listening to your dulcet tones on my radio very soon.

Would you return to your previous employer in a lesser role after gettng fired?

The fan base here has whined and cried like stood up 13 year old girls about Kerr, and management finally responded.
I'd bet a man a hat Kerr doesn't go back to do Calgary radio. Why the eff wouldhe

For Pete's sakes, it is "Maher", not "Mahr".
