Picture quality differences between TSN and RSN could be caused by your provider. I doubt that the cameras used are much different from one station to the other. Bell probably provides a better picture for TSN since they own it.

The camera's aren't different, the way those images are produced are.

I used NHL game center for last nights game, not Shaw, not Bell, not Rogers and switching between the Flames feed (Sportsnet) and the Jets feed (TSN) was almost quite literally night and day.

The Flames feed was quiet, dull, dark and boring.

The Jets feed was vibrant, alive, bright and active. The crowd was visible by not being darkened out and visible by noise as well.

Yes there could be some factor in the middle affecting the qualities of the two. However, I'm not capturing both feeds personally, these are from the HD feeds provided to the NHL, suggesting each is the best available source.

So there may be a higher quality picture that RSN puts out, but at the very least the NHL and its customers are not getting it. If Sportsnet believed their product was being compromised one would think they would want to rectify the issue.

Really? You think it's the providers fault that SN has terrible video quality? It's not coincidence that CBC and TSN have superior HD quality. Does bell own CBC too?

Sportsnet signed a 10 year deal with both teams in 2010.

I said it could be the providers fault. I know that Bell plays with the quality of it's broadcasts from channel to channel and even some programs, as they have a limited amount of throughput and use compression. Bell also broadcasts in 720p only while others like Rogers will pass through whatever the station is out puting such as 1080i.

Watched a bit of the Heat-Barons game today and I though RJ Broadhead could be an upgrade over Kerr.
