Yeah the Oilers are rock bottom, it's one thing to suck and have high draft picks. However, that brings hope. When you still suck and you come to the sick realization that your first overalls are not going to bring your team any real success, that is rock bottom.

I also think this isn't close to rock bottom. Let's wait until they trade Kesler/Edler/Bieksa ... they'll suck horribly next season. With the Flames also in a rebuilding situation, and with Oilers gonna oil, I expect everybody in Western Canada to push hard for McDavid next year. Which means the Flames will have to settle for somebody else.

In terms of a single game implosion, I agree that it was pretty close to rock bottom last night. Although, I recall a Flames game where they were leading the Hawks 5-0 when I went to bed, but ... well, we all know what happened.
