I was listening when they announced it. Made it sound like they heard it from Sweden, but then someone who speaks Swedish at the station said he didn't read anything about Backlund being announced replacement. Host said "Hmm, must be a different news outlet reporting it" or some such thing. I wouldn't get my hopes up, TBH. I think this is a big game of telephone.

It was really funny though, they had gillis on the show making short non-commital answers about h sedin. And then they hang up the phone and find out elsewhere, almost immediately, sedin isn't going. Hosts were not happy with gillis. Pretty funny haha.

No idea on the credibility here, but some poster on HF from Sweden said the rumors surrounding Backlund arose when the coach mentioned his name as a potential replacement candidate. Again, just some 'he said/she said' rumor. He didn't include a quote, so no confirmation as to even IF the coach really mentioned Backlund, much less how much emphasis he meant.

The Swedish team released an official statement from Mårts (the coach) where he said that he will spend a few hours tonight deciding/finding/contacting the replacement and that he is hoping to announce it during the day tomorrow.

Not sure where the poster saw/heard that quote, but what I stated in the above paragraph is at least the official information they've released.
