Pfftt, you're not even a 2001 when this version was launched. A lot of the early people came over from the original board (called Fire in Ice then I think). I remember it having a black background which was really hard to read, so I was pretty happy when this one replaced it.
You can tell Mr.Mastodon ...Ian Pulver Cammalleri's agent did ask for a trade in the summer. Two Flames brass told me so. As well, Mr. Mastodon ...Flames may talk about extension, that doesnt mean it will happen. While, Im at it ..when's coffee??

Pitts trades #28th overall pick (2014) to Calgary
Calgary trades #36th overall pick (2014) to MTL
8 spots is 8 spots. But yes, losing that 2nd rounder was a disaster.
Depends on the return of Cammalleri.
Bourque was a healthy scratch who has a contract until 2016. He's entering albatross level here. At this point he can't be worth much more than another team's headache in a change of scenery type trade.
Holland and the 5th (Culkin) probably cancel each other out on the trade, or close enough.
So if Cammalleri can get back a 1st round pick, even in a weaker draft, I'd say considering they also got Ramo at worst the Flames break even on this trade before factoring into who was drafted/who could have been drafted.

Nik . I can't dance. But you know who I am. Don't hide behind a phoney name. Flames may be talking, don't believe Cammy and Ian Pulver will be buying...Unless the Flames concerns about hitting the Cap Floor are so big they must. Can tell you in conversations with the team. The Cap Floor next year is a major concern.

It has to be, we need to spend a bunch of money to get there. We went from having the ability to take on cap to where we pretty much need to take on cap. That's why I was hoping they would chase Stastny this summer, with the Stajan signing I can't see that happening anymore.
Interesting point about the Cap Floor, something to keep in mind when people want to offload everyone for picks and prospects.
Alot of posters on this sight have repeated that issue many times. It hasn't seemed to sink in for many. Hitting the cap floor is a problem. It's why guys like Stajan were resigned. If Cammalleri is in extension talks then that means Hudler is almost certainly being shopped.
Tinordi and Locke It is a problem...especially if guys like Gaudreau and Arnold make team and are paid regular first year salaries. Part of the hurdles of rebuilding.

I think it'll take a dumptruck full of cash to keep Cammalleri and honestly, I think Hudler is the more valuable player considering where the team is at right now and in the near future.

Isn't the penalty for not hitting the Cap Floor a complete loss of revenue sharing?
I'm not saying the Flames should just do it, and they won't, but is that really even a threat to a Canadian market team? What else is the penalty?
It's simply a requirement. Not doing so will result in fines, forfeits, loss of draft picks, whatever else the NHL wants to throw at them.
The Flames, as it stands today, will have about 15M to reach the Cap Floor with 10 roster players to sign. The biggest needs will be replacements (or re-signings) for Cammalleri, Stempniak, Russell and Butler. So all it would really take is 1 bigger UFA signing to not have an issue assuming the team doesn't make any other moves.
If they are worried about the cap floor though, that would seem to indicate they are planning on having quite a few rookies as the ELC no longer count the bonuses for getting over the floor. That's where the "problem" of replacing a player like Butler with Sieloff would come from.
