Love it if Vancouver feels they are very close, just need some veteran scoring help, and a better backup in case Luongo needs some rest to get us past the California teams. A phone call to Burke goes something like "we have Bo Horvat and a first rounder this year we want Hudler or Cammy and Berra or Ramo."

The Canucks are in for a long period of disappointment. They will continue to try to stay competitive even though their ship has sailed. They will delay taking their medicine and rebuilding (much like the Flames did). They could be in the wilderness for a long time.

John Garrett is still whining and crying on Hockey Central. Complete homer.

I wish the ghost of Ed Whalen would visit his old partner and beat him down with a microphone.

I think he was referring to Kassian. That's how it looked to me in context anyways

Especially if Sestito waited till Jackman got up cause he's most likely going to be willing to fight if he's given the chance. But instead he starts punching away at Jackman when he's down on the ice.
I'm not surprised they are only calling one of the players in those situations now. I know they used to take both off but after what happened to Holtby with Emery the refs were probably told that if a fight only has one willing combatant than only give the penalty to one of them.

Absolutely.
The game was over and the Canucks were gooning it up, something they're pretty bad at even at the best of times. The refs basically just ended the game early and were gifted the opportunity by that idiot Sestito and Hansen.
Why on earth would anyone on the Ducks drop their gloves in a 7-1 game?
And Sestito again punching someone whos down on the ice and cant fight back, he should be getting a call from Shanahan by now.

Sesito absolutly should be getting a call from Shanahan, he should have after the Nolan incident. How about the next time we play the canucks we sent Westgarth out to jump one of the sedins see how they like it.

I don't think so. A couple of punches isn't going to earn him anything. It hasn't for anyone else, so it's a weird precedent to make now.
Has anyone thought about the most logical reason for the penalties?
Ref: "Stop the shenanigans or you'll get 2, 5 and 10. It's getting it of hand. This is your warning."
Sestito: "I'm going to goon it up after the next scrum near my net!"
Scrum ensues
Canucks bench: "How the hell can you call us on a 2, 5 and 10?"
I mean, it's extremely unlikely that this happened without pretext

The only reason he hasnt been suspended is he didnt injure anyone, a lot like the Thornton suspension minus the injury

What a great game to watch... It was so funny in mid-December when everyone was saying how the Canucks had responded to tortorella and how good a coach he was cause we all know it's only matter of time till torts start to become a liability. Brace yourselves Canuck fans... This is only the beginning of the bad times.

This is reminiscent of the time the Flames lost to the Sharks to a similar route (Might have also been something like 9-1) in the season that started the Flames playoff drought. After that loss, it was the first time that I actually recognize the fact the Flames could actually miss the playoffs that year. I think this game might have a similar impact to Canuck fans

Just switched on hockeycentral at noon and John Garrett was on the line. He was complaining about reffing again and the rest of the panel (Millard, Spector) was actually laughing at him. Calling him out and then asked repeatedly if officiating cost the canucks the game. He ignored them. This is a direct quote
Millard: John you're going on as if the officiating cost the canucks the game.
Garrett: No I am not.
All three guys were openly laughing at him and mocking him. Asked Garrett about the record against California teams and his response was "the canucks outchanced the Kings on Monday." Also said the canucks were "tired" last night.
Finished the call with asking Garrett if he still predicts the canucks will win the Stanley Cup. He said yes. They started laughing. Then asked him which ref will put the screws to Vancouver tonight in Phoenix.
It seems like not even Garrett's colleagues respect him. They were actually mocking him on air.

The game Saturday might get ugly. Sestito is being a total goon lately and they're probably still mad about the imaginary elbow McGrattan threw.
