flames will get a star with their first pick, but IMO the bigger thing to watch is how many firsts can they end up with this year and next?

I hope they can somehow get 2-3 this year and next, maybe through salary dumps for team like the Flyers.

Although I was worried Burke might trade the picks for players that have an nhl head start, that does not seem likely now. Flames are bottom of the league bad, and that brings opportunity.

We'll see two 1sts this year, max.

Cammy is the only thing that'll get us the second one. And he needs to even ramp up his play a bit in the next while if that's to happen.

First rounders don't just come falling out of the sky just cause we want them. It took players of Iggy and Jbo caliber to pick them up last season. With guys like Stemp, Stajan, Galliardi on scoring droughts, you're definitely not snatching up firsts with those.

Most likely goes in the 20s. Strong finish to the season/playoffs could easily propel him back in the top 15. He does a lot of things right, would love to add him to the Flames if we can grab another 1st.

Fully agree with you - he has 20 points in his last 13 games for the Hitmen, and has been a catalyst for a lot of the team's offence in the last little while. No idea where these strange 4th liner comparisons are coming from - people only seeing his early season stats? I'd be shocked if he slips out of the first round, playing the way he is now.
