I guess partial vaccination is better than nothing.

Was listening to the radio and they said they'll be holding back doses for children under 9 and for kids that need a 2nd dose (among other things), so you should be ok.

Yeah some guy refused the needle but they were very hesitant giving him the nasal spray... partially because of the lack of supply and they're for kids. But if not then he wasn't getting the vaccine so they gave it to him anyways.

Those are for kids!
They should have given him the rectal method.

Getting a little tired of all the people bellyaching of how this could have done better, they needed to have more clinics, blah blah blah.
There were tons of options at the beginning of the flu season. Superstore, Shoppers, Co-Op all sorts of pharmacies were open earlier. Quick and easy. It's actually never been easier.
Let this be a lesson to all out there to go get it early, at the beginning of the season. It's like anything, if you procrastinate, it often becomes a pain. But it's not really the governments fault this year. They can't buy more this late. Had they known earlier in the season, there would be more available.
I am however very thankful that so many Albertans are getting their shots. It seems society is getting smarter about this. Good on those getting it for the first time this year!

One of the problems AHS faces is that people dont react linerly to fear. Early in the flu season people believe the risk is zero. Now they have createc a little bit too much panic. But how can they walk that fine line between the average flu year and a slightly higher risk year.
You cant have the AHS stockpile staff and vaccine in case the year becomes a pandemic. I dont think this year AHS did anything wrong. Apply less pressure and no one gets vaccinated more than normal. Its up to people to start taking care of themselves before these types of panics occur.

I don't really like needles either, but what really bothers me is seeing blood pumping into the vial when you do blood tests. It pumping out with the beat of your heart makes me really uncomfortable. If I don't watch that, or watch the needles going into my arm, it's not so bad.

I must be strange, weird or whatever you may want to call me, but I always watch the blood pumping into the vial. I have medical conditions that quickly forced to get over my fear of needles. I have blood tests done a regular basis and find watching the needle go in and the blood pumping out to be a calming effect.

Agreed, human nature for sure. Pretty typical and shouldn't be surprising. Just wish those that did decide to do it now said something to the effect of, 'I waited too long, I guess it's my fault' instead of, 'I really think the government should have handled this better'.
Not talking about anyone here, just some bozos I saw on the news. In fairness though, there were a few that I saw on the news that did admit their fault in the situation.

And they are done. According to a sun article they have run out of vaccine and have closed the flu clinics for the rest of the season save for second kid doses and healthcare centre outbreaks.

I just ask "The Infected" to please not bite those of us that are healthy, lets not make this worse than it has to be.

Yeah, no kidding. I got mine at Rexal a couple months ago. Was just dropping something off at the post office there and dropped by the pharmacy. Not a single other person there.
