I think it was 06/07. 05/06 was the gold hard hat and then afterwards I think was the tie. I remember Boyd wearing it.

The 2007 Flames did.

They did the fireman's hat last year too. They gave it a fancy paint job this year.

That was the Flames in 2006-07, I believe. They did the gold hard hat in 05-06 to replace the one from the run that went to the HHOF, then, I think the tie was the following season.

Last year they gave out a preppy country club sweater.

Scoring Winger
|
Was really happy with the effort tonight especially the backchecking. Haven't seen that kind of team effort and buy-in for a long long long time. Didn't realize big Earn was that fast to break up a scoring chance and was nice to see Baer play better in his own end. I think this team will continue to buy-in as it's been a long time since the flames had so many players that could step into the lineup from the AHL.
On that note good to see the Heat win their first of the season on the road tonight as well 5-2. Hanowski had 2 goals and Jooris had a goal and an assist. Cundari was a +2 and Berra stopped 31 of 33 shots. Looks like Reinhart, Knight and others had good games from the scoresheet as well. Ferland and Horak were -1 with no points. Hopefully they can pick it up as I thought they looked really good in the preseason.
Have the college guys started playing yet? Interested in how Gaudreau, Gillies, Jankowski, Agostino and Harrison do this year.

It was a fireman's helmet last year. It was unfortunately lost in the flood:
I believe the CFD gave them the new helmet during the team building exercises last week.

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline 1m Eight days of moderate tempo practices, spent mostly on special teams, did nothing to prepare #CBJ for tonight. Couldn't match #Flames pace.
Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd 50s
#CBJ D James Wisniewski said he'd give himself a 'C-'. Said speed caught him off-guard. "We have to be a lot better, especially myself."

Mix that into a team's opening game, at home and all the leadup and media attention that CBJ has been building up to. Those teams (Flames too, in the past) have come out flat when the first game is a home game, and they're playing a game against a team who has already played and doesn't have those first game and/or home opener jitters.

I was slightly disappointed that I only got to boo Erixon during the pre-game introductions, but I couldn't have asked for much more from a game. Very nice win.

Woott! Can't ask for a better start on the road than that!
Wideman with 29 minutes of ice time tonite!
Also Hartley mentioned in his post game that there is no more division in the dressing room anymore. Everyone is on the same page. I guess that must have been a huge issue last year.
