I'm not quite in the "ban fighting" camp yet. But I'd love it if these goons posing as hockey players were banned. I'm not sure what metric you use to determine an enforcer, but really if a guy has more fights in a week than shots on net, perhaps he's not needed.

I actually don't mind fighting but the "policing" argument is pretty much the worst argument you could make. No other sports need fighting to prevent guys from trying to injure each other like savages and lots are as physical as hockey.
It's entertainment plain and simple... For some people largely in the male 13-50 demographic it works, for others like my wife it actually will cause her to change the channel or (tonight) just leave and do something else. Double edged sword for the league.

I remember a couple years ago on our season opener when Ivannas got KO'd... The season just wasn't the same.

I really don't want to buy Gamecentre, 50/month is crazy, but I'm kind of enjoying it thus far.

Burke built the maple leafs really well. This city would love the team to be big strong tough and skilled... The only minuses is their salary cap issues haha.
Full disclosure... They are still a few pieces away from being a cup contender

And the Oilers quest to mediocrity begins now.

Hmmm, I suppose I may have misheard, but after talking about the guy from ontario, I'm pretty sure he said 'and if Parros dies tonight, there will never be a fight in the NHL again. Then Hughson chimed about how it shouldn't need to come to that.

These "oil change" metaphors are getting old. How often do you need to change f'in oil Edmonton?

It'll be weird not to see Paul Lorieau singing the anthems in Edmonton anymore.

Uggh, crowd shot of them signing the anthem and fans are taking sips of their drinks. Can't wait the 30 seconds for the anthem to finish? Classy Oiler fans as always.
