My 2nd year with gcl. Watched game 1 directly on my laptop and it was bad sd quality. Game 2 on the ps3 app was much better, some buffering issues in the first period but that's it. No hd though but not bad.

I know how to hook my laptop into my
Tv via the hdmi cord but how don you hook up your tv through your computer? Same thing?

Love GameCenter. Watched the second half of the game last night on my phone over 3G and it was surprisingly good. A few hiccups, but seeing as I am at the cottage with no TV it was better than nothing.
Love the portability of it. When traveling in winter can throw it up on iPad or throw to appleTV at most friends/families houses.

I was thinking of getting Center Ice this year with the new 70". Though, I'm wondering why only the US feed was available on CI but GC had both? I don't live in a blacked out area and I prefer the calm, soothing sounds of the homer feed. IIRC, the feeds were inconsistent in the past as well.

As for GCL, it's a no brainer with the multiple platforms and portability plus in the States, you get a 10% discount if you sign up with your Discover card...$135-ish all in.

I'm liking the free preview and just may sign up for the season. Good to watch NHL hockey and all different teams.

If you live in Alberta, every game that's available on sportsnet west. If you live in Toronto, possibly the CBC ones, but other than that none I believe.

And if you live in California it will be the one game on NHLN this year.....and I guess Sharks/Kings/Ducks games depending on where you live.

Working great for me right now. Watched 5 games this evening flipping back and forth, on the CPU, tablet and TV.

This is wrong. If you live in AB, every game the Flames play should be blacked out.

CI and GCL black out any game available on CBC, TSN, RDS or your local Sportsnet channel (West, for us Calgarians).

This is wrong. Or at least has been in past years. If the flames play the leafs, for example, on leafs tv. It's available on CI through a leaf tv feed, as it's not available anywhere else for Alberta viewers. Same goes for a couple Phoenix games every year. You have to sit and look at the schedule and see what stations broadcast what.

If you live in Alberta, and only want to watch Flames games Center Ice is virtually a waste.

Edit: this year if you live in Alberta and want to watch the flames every game except October 24 will be blacked out. In previous years there was more than just 1 game though.

If you have the motorola from shaw it shouldn't be a problem, as long as it's a newer one that can decode mpeg4. If your dvr is a silver one that's a few years old you might have a problem as it's possible it won't work with CI. Shaw exchanged mine last year though at no cost even though I owned it.
Just make sure you don't have the tv on the channel the game is on when you turn it on, or at least don't look at the screen, just change the channel immediately if it's on. Happened to me once when I turned mine on in the middle of the game and saw the score in the corner.

Watched the whole of the game versus the Blue Jackets and had no problems. This really is the best thing the NHL did by making this available to international customers (except for the blackouts of all of the HNIC games).

Only for people with Canadian IP addresses I believe.

Also, I've had GCL for a few years and found it to have improved. This is the first year I've watched games using Apple TV hooked up to my TV and it's awesome. No complaints.

yeah, it's fantastic. What makes it even better for me this year is that "ESPN America" folded and therefore I won't experience any blackouts at all

This is where I get stuck. So if I have an Apple TV, go through the DNS address only on Apple TV (for unblock us) it should work but when I reset I don't think it's working right. My IP address is random at every start-up, is that possibly why?
