He is definitely up there on the list:
$4.76M from the buyout
$4.5M for his new contract.
$9.26M total, which would put him 6th on the list for cash paid per year.
The amount of cash he gets paid is going to go down but he will still be collecting buyout cheques in 2027.
If you look at it the other way as to how much cash he just secured for himself and ignore the yearly payments:
Buyout total = $32.67M
New Contract total = $22.5M
Grand Total = $55.17M
That's a pretty good week for Lecavalier.
