We posted at the exact same time and my post was the last on the page before. I'll add this again, they reviewed Whitaker clearly being stopped by Munoz a minute before. That play should have been reviewed. Again, what a bunch of BS.

I think they got the White tackle right in that it didn't need play stopped to be reviewed and they got the Whitaker play wrong. Word on twitter is that the play was reviewed by the booth and they deemed it not necessary to stop play.
Either way, Edmonton had time for 2 plays.

@ArashMadani: On #Eskimos goal line play last night, the #CFL says command centre reviewed it. No additional review to stop the game needed, league says.

I think in both instances, the decision to stop to review or not was correct. It completely plausible that the booth reviewed the Edmonton play without stopping the game. That's an easy review.

He should have had the team line up and spiked the ball when he saw there wasn't going to be a review. Then he could have called a real play, instead of whatever abomination that was that had the offensive line spread out while Montreal had practically every guy on the line ready for the run.
However, that was 2 terrible teams on display. Montreal, despite TSN's attempts to make it sound like they are getting on track, barely beat an Eskimo team that makes the Oilers look like a well-run organization. Only enjoyable thing was watching last year's analyst darling J.C. "Tackles Record Holder" Sherritt get manhandled everywhere. No record for you this year, JC - teams have figured out assigning a blocker over 5 feet tall and better than 120 pounds on you will freeze you out on the ground game and open up huge holes that even the CFL's worst running backs can fly through.

I read somewhere that Kavis Reed is 3-12 over his last 15 games - Definitely has earned that contract extension. As jammies stated, the Eskies make the Oilers look like a well oiled machine.

I've never understood the praise for the tackles record. It means that teams are intentionally running AT you, not that you are good at tackling. One would think that if you were really good at defense, you would have fewer tackles, as teams would try to avoid your area.
Of course it helps when you are playing on a lousy team that has is defense out on the field more often than not.

Well as a middle linebacker he should be in on the play quite a bit, as that's the quarterback equivalent on the defence. He's usually off the line, and thus you have to send a blocker at him (which can be avoided if he reads the play right) or run the play away from him to escape his reach. Last year Sherritt proved he's pretty quick, so he was there when plays were run to avoid him; I think this year, though, coaches have figured out that the way to run all over the Eskimos is just to roll right over their undersized linebackers with your big guys, and Montreal did a good job of that, which TSN highlighted a couple times. JC is just way too small to take on any offensive linemen in a straight muscle match, so they just throw him aside and open up the middle. He's even too small to outmuscle most of the receivers and fullbacks, for that matter.
He's still making tackles, but they are too often of the variety where he chases down a guy from behind who is already well into the secondary because he's blown by him earlier while blocked. I wouldn't be surprised if the Eskimos either start rotating him off with someone bigger, or fiddle with their defensive alignments to mask him from blocking somehow.

If last nights play happened outside the 3 min. the Esks would of had to use a challenge because the Com cntr reviews all scoring plays

Lets try this again for everyone. The command center reviewed whether the back was had crossed the goal line and felt he did

Again the command center will look to see if there are any challengable aspects at the end of the game and review them. My previous point...

Was that the criteria for the review would of been whether or not the back crossed the goal line. Good conversation by all today!!

The weather in Guelph tonight doesn't sound promising. I'm guessing that also factored into not playing Darian Durant tonight.
You gotta think the Ottawa REDBLACKS are liking this week with all these backups starting. Zach Collaros just might get his turn on Tuesday as well.

The fact the Argos are playing a home game on a Tuesday is pretty pathetic

Why are they playing on a Tuesday anyways?

Unbelievable. Can't TSN smarten the #### up and get a damn radio feed off the game instead of these dumbasses having a Sunday afternoon chat?
