I think Vinny goes to VAN on a 3-year deal if they can get rid of Luongo and buy out Ballard. NYR still has a huge anchor in Brad Richards and there's no reason for them to buy him out just to sign Vinny (although the irony would be delicious).

CHI is also desperate for a 2nd line center now so that's a big possibility.

We're not going to get him, but I'm sure the owners would love to have him.

We've shed most of our big names. Bringing in a new one makes business sense for owners who are propably worried about the pull of their brand in the near future.

The pressure there is worse on French goalies than skaters.

Vinny may agree to a new deal before the draft is done (yes I am aware he can't sign til July 5th but he can still agree in principle to a new deal):

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 25m Sense is that Vincent Lecavalier will have shortlist of teams drawn up by tonight or tomorrow morning; either way, pre-draft could be down to 1 or 2 teams by draft time...

I think Vinny is on a line with Marian Hossa next season...so CHI is trying to move Bolland and maybe Leddy or whomever to make a little room.

Kane - Toews - Bickell
Sharp - Lecavalier - Hossa

Looks good to me

Chicago just had one of the most dominant seasons in history, don't see why they want to mess with it too much.

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 5m Hearing that the Chicago Blackhawks do NOT have interest in Vincent Lecavalier. Many Hawks fans saw him as No. 2 C solution.

TSNRyanRishaug DarrenDregerSources say Lecavalier and his agent will meet directly with teams over the next 3-5 days, and will take time in making decision.

Real_ESPNLeBrun Add the Boston Bruins to the long list of teams that have inquired about Vincent Lecavalier.

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod now Hearing DET, SJ, MTL, TOR, BOS, DAL, FLA, OTT, ANA, CGY, NYR are among the teams that will reach out to Lecavalier, if they haven't already

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 1m Dallas Stars meeting with Lecavalier camp later today. Don't sleep on Dallas in this one. They're keen on him.

If Vinny wants to win he should go to Det. If he wants to just take it easy I can see him going to a team like FLA.

I think if Montreal offers him anything half decent, he will be all over the chance to go home. He seems like a very community and family orientated kind of guy. I know he's stated in the past he'd rather stay in Tampa than play in Montreal, but that's not really a possibility anymore.
No chance that happens. The pressure scares him, he will not play for the Habs.

Check that: hearing Lecavalier will meet with Detroit and Calgary tomorrow. Two meetings, not one.

Vinny meets with Calgary tomorrow.

Why do I get the sinking feeling we are going to be in Cap trouble tomorrow?

Well... better bring back Iginla if Lecavalier signs here. Too bad Kiprusoff is retired, and Tanguay is gone or else we'd be the most dominant team in the league! 10 years ago.

It doesn't make sense, but who here has come to expect different?

There's very little chance that he signs here anyway.

I love how every projected line combo drops Glencross to the third line....notwithstanding the consistency of his production

I'm not too worried. Lecavalier can play for any team he wants, so I doubt he picks the hollowed out husk of a team the Flames currently resemble. He will most likely meet as a courtesy to Feaster and quickly move on.

Maybe if Iggy were still here the idea would have legs. But without him? Not a chance. Not when so many better teams are lining up too.
