Iginla's worst nightmare? Really? If anything it's his chance to prove to the Bruins and Penguins that he was worth the interest. As a competitor I expect he will be amped up to play through the boos and try to be a difference maker in that series.

There's no doubt the Bruins deal was better and it's my belief that seeing he had the Bruins on his list he should have accepted the deal the Flames brokered. However the blame falls on King/Feaster for giving Iginla the option.

I think this is really hard to judge how good the bruins are. They are getting free range to go on 3/4 of the ice. The rangers are not doing anything but playing rope-a-dope.
It is kinda like saying somebody is a really good fighter cause the other guy isn't swinging.

Boston is 3:1 online right now to emerge from the East. Does anyone else like them beating what is most likely Pittsburgh? I'm unsure right now of the bet.

Lots of talk about Richards being bought out. It's not often good things happen to the Flames organization but losing out on Richards on that early July day was a very good day for the Calgary Flames.
On the flip side I am absolutely terrified that the GM that made that ridiculous runner up offer and followed that up with the ROR fiasco is still making big decisions for the Flames going forward. Terrified!

I call it chicken bleep hockey. He relies 80% on his goalie 19% on shot blocking
Everything and 1% on his offence. NY has become the Min of the East.

Interesting to read the predictions at the start of this thread pretty much all for the Rangers taking the series. Boston had the far tougher opponent in the first round and was much better prepared for this series than New York

You should be terified that Feaster could make the exact same offer to Richards again if he gets bought out.

The start time for game five will be 1530h, 3:30 pm because NBC is showing the Senior PGA tournament. Those folks in the eastern time zone will get to feel what it is like to watch a Saturday doubleheader as if they were in the Mountain time zone.

Same type of numbers in the second round predictions thread. I thought it was funny. I picked the Bruins, but it was very surprising to see all the Rangers prognosticators.
Caps play in the weakest division in hockey and were a non playoff team for over half the season. They put together a great run for a month and reeled off a bunch of wins, but against some weaker teams. They still took the Rangers to seven games.
Never liked Torts and would to see the sweep completed tonight.

Brad Richards is a healthy scratch.
Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord 27s Richards says Torts called him this morning at home with the news he would be a healthy scratch.

Brad Richards a healthy scratch.
Could you imagine being stuck with another 6 years of him at that contract.

For the record, I think tonight is the last of John Tortarella behind the Rangers bench.

On the other hand, if he is bought out this summer, I would love to have him for a cheap deal.
|
I would think the Rangers would fire Torts before buying out Richards. Give him one more year to prove his contract. Seriously what the hell happened to him.

True, but Tampa didn't play that way for Torts.

The length is horrible but he will bounce back. People forget he was the best forward on that team last playoffs.
Once Torts is gone, i believe Richards will be back to normal. They will not buy him out this year, but if he has another bad year then he will be bought out.

The New York Rangers curse happened. Just in the past few years, it also happened to Gomez and Redden, and to a slightly lesser extent, Nash and Gaborik. It's really unfathomable how much players underperform on that team.

Who knows ... Feaster might get another kick at the can when he's bought out.

i haven't watched much of this or the caps series, but i did note he was playing on the 4th line last game!!!
Now to be a healthy scratch is even more laughable. Torterella has gotta get outta NY. I actually thought he was a good coach, but that team should be FAR better than it has shown this season. I have never been a big fan of richards, but has his game deteriorated so much since that concussion last year?
sather will likely be making some pretty big changes this offseason.
