I would rather see Kipper and Ramo for next season.

Nothing against MacDonald, I just don't see him as a part of the long term plan. He is nice to have in the short term but not really necessary for a rebuilding team.

Personally i hope Kipper comes back and i wouldn't mind a new 2 year contract around 3.7 to 4 but if he doesn't i could see Joey Mac carrying 50-55% of the games with whomever. Ramos/Berra.
I like the 1 year deal for MacDonald its a good insurance policy.

And an older Kiprusoff who hasn't looked as good as MacDonald this year is apart of the long term plans?

I would prefer MacDonald to Kiprusoff next year, not only because he has had a better season but because he is a more open personality and having vets that are great in the room like Mac is said to be is a must in the short term. He is also a success story as to why they should never give up and those are good to have around the kids too.
